Last year I also stayed in 106 for several days while the remodeling of the hotel was still going on. It was pretty basic back then. The updated version should be very nice, if it's the same as the other studio apartment room on the 2nd floor, which I got a look at during my June trip. At one point it was unoccupied and the door was wide open, so I went in and poked around.
The same thing happened with one of the new 2nd floor penthouse rooms, I think it was 202--it had a jacuzzi. Had myself a look, it was real nice, I certainly would love to stay there.
I've also stayed in 310, the one with the loft bedroom, again before whatever remodeling may have been done to it. I didn't like the loft-style bed, and one wall consisted of tall windows--the curtains didn't completely block the green outside lights and so at night the whole room was filled with a green glow.
