I know this is probably a silly question but is there a difference in CR regarding rates (Hotel and Airfare) around this holiday but not the week of?

I have found that DR is fairly cheap since most folk don't travel these weeks.

If anyone is thinking of traveling to CR either of these weeks let me know. My wingman is waivering but I am not.

First time in CR but have mongered in DR, Hong Kong, China....

Thanksgiving in November is a uniquely American holiday. Other than expat hangouts in the gulch and hotels in town offering turkey dinners there is no noticeable change from any other Thursday in November.

I do not think there is much, if any, difference hotels prices or airfares. Easy way to check that is to go to one of the travel web sites and punch in different dates and see if they show any price changes.

The only difference may be that there may be less rain the end of November versus the earlier part of November, but that isn't always true either.

I guess the other question (and the one I really should have asked!) is there less talent at this time? I would imagine most CR visitors are from the US and if we are staying home around this time are the Ticas staying home due to fewer customers?

Nothing more depressing than going on a fishing trip and the fish dont show up.

Thanks again.

I do not think that logic necessarily works. A sales person has to work longer and harder in a down economy.

Chicas are selling a product. When business is slow they have to spend more time where the customers are not less.

Thats why I wanted to ask the pros.

Just a quick aside. I have been enjoying the photos on the board and noticed that the really hot babes tend to be the bartenders. Are they open season or just window dressing?

As for the bartenders, yes, they usually are the hottest girls, and no, it isn't open season. Del Rey bartenders are quite good at scamming you into believing you have a chance with them--while you're buying drink after drink for them, they're secretly pouring themselves water or soda while giving you the real struff. You get drunk, she stays sober--and pockets the extra money.

I am glad I do not drink

I would not paint all the bartenders there with such a broad brush I have seen and know first hand at the HDR

I'm shooting for the week after Thanksgiving. I can get all bloated on turkey and just find some hot Tica to rub my belly. :D

If any of you guys are thinking about that time frame let me know. My wingman is waivering but I am 98.825% certain about that week.

I am going at that time. Most Americans are already at their destination by Wed/Thur morning. Friday is usually wide open. Flights are less than $300 from Chitown. I will be there. If you need any info let me know.

Jagermeister, I Will be in San Jose by myself the Saturday after Thanksgiving till the following Wednesday. Probably stay at the Del Rey. Hitting up a massage parlor or two during the day. Where are you thinking of staying? Should be a buyers market for us.

My business schedule totally changed which allows me to go earlier.

I am now booked Sept 28-Oct2.
