Oh its real chica friendly...as long as you don't mind the cutting glares of everyone in the hotel from the maids up and as long as a $70 chica fee doesn't dissuade you.

Aurola is on one side of Morazon Park and the Delray on the other- 2 minutes. Maybe someone else can give you a straight answer about chica friendly?

Why ? Were you un-clear about something that Pac55 wrote ? IMO, he was right on the money. Most (if not all) of their staff will stare at you like you have a 3rd eye when you walk thru the hotel with a chica on your arm. And their $70 chica fee speaks for itself. How much "straighter" of an answer do you want ?!?

And BTW Dbros9.... which "approved" list are you talking about ?

Unfortunately, that WAS a straight forward answer. I would love to rack up more Priority points on my account, but the policies there would make that extremely cost prohibitive.

Check it out, the man is giving good advice. Just my two cents.

Courtyard is located in Plaza Itskatzu which is about a 15 minute taxi ride from downtown.

The place is Chica unfriendly!
If you have to stay there at least you are in the heart of the action
Lots of mp's in the area that offer on site dinning
There also alot of very chica friendly hotels very close. For about 40 bucks a night you can have a playpen ?
I have heard that you can bring a chica to eat at the resteraunt???
Is that strait enough
Hope so

If you have to stay at the HI, you're way better off taking Del Rey chicas to the cheap rent-by-hour hotels in the area (Hotel Asia being one) or to Motel Eden (costs more, but far nicer), or just go to MP's.

Never stayed there. About half mile from DR but the park you must walk through is not safe at night. Take a Cab. In the other direction is little Havana the old ZB. Hope this info helps

Obvious answer:

come on guys give the man the obvious answer. Stay at the Holiday Inn as expected of you. Get a second room in a second hotel to party in. An excellent suggestion would be the Morazan. At $55 a night you'd be saving $15 on the fee alone. Back in the 90s when my company would send me to Costa Rica I would stay at a Holiday Inn but get me a second room at the Del Ray. Everybody's happy you get to play and the company thinks there representative is behaving. Pay in cash for the second room and there's no trail.

Think using La Officina or Motel Eden are a lot cheaper then renting a second room at the Morazan

You can spit and hit the Del Rey....it ain't far.

Suggestion: Just enjoy the Holiday Inn and frequent the massage parlors which are all around you....then go back to the Holiday Inn and you'll recognize it IS a nice hotel. Use the massage parlors. (The idea about a 2nd room for little or no money is also a good one....but who needs two rooms>???).....there is Hotel Diann right down the way from the Holiday Inn which is very affordable and....heck....you could get a room at the Castillo which is about 600 meters from the Holiday Inn....a very decent place...and with the CRT VIP discount have the 2nd room.

However.....use the massage parlors or do what Irish Drifter has suggested relative to that other hotel.....just some ideas.... 8)

My solution - and I've done this several times.

I used to work with a large company with similar restrictions. My technique - make your reservation for the full duration. Sign in. Find another hotel that makes sense. Clarion Amon Plaza or Sleep Inn are good fits because they are familiar American names & they cost less than the HI.

Switch hotels. It was because the HI was unsafe at night (you ~~did~~ have a problem just outside, didn't you?). No one will ever challenge you because you made a switch for your own safety. Talk about the damned putas & TSs just around the corner & how unsafe the park is after dark.

Have a good time at the other hotel. A few points - if you book through Nixon at the Amon Plaza ~~as I recall ~~ you will not get a typical receipt. This can be problematic, so work a deal to get a receipt before you commit. Also, in my case the charge was through the casino as a cash advance. This could be an issue for some people because of the interest charges.

The Sleep Inn charges can easily be paid separately upon check-out, then a clean invoice for just the room and taxes will be available. The Sleep Inn has issues but the front desk manager has always been very professional & accomodating with me & their location is near perfect. As an alternative you could use the Presidente, which is likely also less than the HI & won't show chica charges. If any questions arise you could easily point to internet chatter chowing they are very chica non-friendly even though you can bring one back at n/c.

Hope this helps - it's always worked for me.

/Dan D.
