As far as I know you can take any drink back to your room that you want. Last time I was at SL I took back several drinks to my room with no problem.

Cool...I know I will have few bottles of goose with me at the room. So I just want to see if tonic water is available down there. I was extremely happy when I was able to find tonic water in Peru and surprisingly in India.

The bar at La Amistad had its "unofficial" opening this past weekend. The official opening is around the first of July. I really like the bar - looks great and well stocked. It is small and it is intimate. This is where you take a chica that you actually like and want to spend some time talking with. Definitely the total opposite of SL, which is good - great to have close options. I was with a girl this weekend for several hours and we stopped at the bar for a scotch. It's a great addition to the hotel....as will be food when the restaurant officially opens for meals other than breakfast.

And the bartender is great, as many of you have noted.

So is this saying you can't comfortably talk to a chica you actually like at SL?

Yea, I think that's what this is saying. I guess I would have to completely disagree with this. Although if it was meant as you can spend time with a girl more on the DL since LA is usually empty, then I would buy into that...

????? Have you ever been to La Amistad? I have never seen it empty. Either Matt is prowling for beer or a couple of mongers are just laying low and recuperating by the bar area.

I think he was saying that the LA bar is comparatively empty, it is brand new after all.

I agree that it is probably one of the best places to take a girl for convo without interruption or distraction. Just remember that, if the negocio goes south, you will need to exit with the chica...you can't leave her there.

I'm guessing this is a rhetorical question, but yes Pac pretty much covered what I was saying.

Asta is tallish with medium length reddish/brown hair at the moment and is of eastern european descent. She is also one of the nicest women I have ever met in CR (even if she isn't working.lol), and I couldn't be happier for her.

I wish her every success and will patronize the bar (at least for a few drinks) just based on the fact that it's her running it. Adding her to the already excellent employees that Matt has probably means that he likely has the best all-around staff in CR (props out to Carlos, Rodolfo, Asta and the anonymous yet accommodating chambermaids) The service at the Amistad is excellent , and I made a point of telling Matt that very thing when I was there.

I agree with Brother Shadowman's physical assessment of Lady Asta but don't tell her she's of Eastern European stock--Lithuanians are proud Baltic (read: Western European) people. Eastern Europeans are such as Rumanians, Bulgarians and such.
