Taca must be doing well because their SJO fares out of NY are in the high $400's.

I may just have to take AA at $279.

Delta is about the same price as AA, which is better?

The Delta flight is direct is it not?
I'd probably have to choose that over flying through MIA

I think either flight has a connection. American in MIA and Delta in ATL.

If the fair is the same, I'd take delta , no question. I have flown them from ATL to SJO about 50 times.

I have never been through immigration in MIA, but it is a breeze in ATL.

***The only exception is that in ATL you have to take possession of your checked bags and re check them and then go through security, EVEN if your staying in Atlanta. This takes about 20 minutes . If this is not the same in MIA , then I might take American and connect there.

Same deal in MIA in my experience connecting there.

I've never had an issue with AA, but I fly out of MIA.

I use AA through Miami and you do not have to recheck your bag but you must take through security. Never found that to be a problem. Immigration is hit and miss depending on how many international flights arrive about the same time but that seems to be the case at any airport. Again never found it to be a big problem.
