I am making a quik trip to Costa Rica, and think it would be cool to buy some high quality cigars because I've read on this forum that they have them there at a reasonable price.

Would anyone be willing to go into any detail about buying quality cigars that aren't cuban because I am from the U.S. ? Buying a bunch of them and putting a special label would be awesome.

Look at the duty free shop at the airport I think they are the freshest and best price. Also a nice cigar shop on the street right behind the Key Largo a cute girl owns it.

Don Tuto's in San Ramon makes nice cigars, but you can buy their cigars via their Miami website cheaper than at their little factory.

When in CR, I buy cubans. I find the prices at HLH to be reasonable. The place upstairs just west of The President is pricey but quality is excellent. I can't wait to go to Cuba and smoke them there and then smuggle some back 8) :!:

Go to Nicarugua. I purchased 200 cigars for $300. The place made the cigars for cigars.com

http://www.donursulo.com/ is a CRT VIP sponser; sells a world class series (which have been reviewed in the trade journals) of cigars and will deliver them to your hotel.

Suggest you email him and work something out. Email addresses are on his home page....

Why wouldn't you want to bring some Cubans back?

Whatever you do, do not, I repeat, DO NOT buy "Cuban cigars" from any street vendor. Yes, they are cheap and NO, they are not real. Sometimes even a fake Cuban is good especially if made from a good seed, Dominican or Nicaraguan and even Cuban seeds. However, in CR, the fakes are horrible. Your better off smoking a rolled up newspaper. Don't get sucked in.
