Gee, I NEVER agree with Thirdworld, but he is 100% correct. It would be so nice if someone could answer a simple question without twisting the post around. Look, you may not have wanted to hear the obvious shit about marrying hookers, but if he's really a friend, you'll try to the best of your ability to talk some sense into him. After that, all you can do is wish him well and hope for the best, IMHO.

No, there isn't much chance they'll know (unless the officer was a past customer). You are correct about the "never worked as a prostitute" question.

He better have her briefed back and forth on whatever their story is about her "previous employment". They will have both his "petition for K-1 visa" paperwork and her paperwork at the interview. If their two stories don't match she can forget about getting a visa.

I think that there are several countries where women have to register as prostitutes. I don't know if the U.S. embassy would have access to this kind of info if it existed, but it's possible. I also don't know if Costa Rica is one of those countries.

Matching stories would seem to be the most important thing. While "working at a hotel in Costa Rica" is a good story, "working at the Hotel Del Rey" would probably not be a wise thing to say.

This guy is over 50 yrs old. He is not wearing any rose colored glasses. He has walked some pretty mean streets in his lifetime. I assure you he is no nerd that is swooning over a young hotty.
