Orthopedic knee surgery? Anyone have any experiences or advice. Torn meniscus, cracked ball joint and deteriorating ligaments, plus a few minor cysts and such. L & I are being dicks and may just use insurance but thought it may make a trip happen. Plus I could finish my dental work!

Thanks

Experiences in CR? No

I had the Orthroscopic procedure done though to shave the miniscus and clean up the ligaments a little. No big deal. In on a Wednesday, back to work on monday, could have gone back Sat or Sunday. Sore for 3 days, and the 1st day you really work it. But after that no worries.

Never had reconstruction though.

I had a major meniscus repair done about a year ago in the States after putting it off for way too long. No complications and the knee feels stable. Pain was nearly zero and healing time was very fast. I can however feel that there is less padding in the knee joint than before, but, really no complaints.

I friend who is an orthopedic surgeon did tell me that one must be very careful to check out the credentials of a prospective surgeon for knee surgery. He said that there are way too many who aren't really good enough to produce the best possible result.

Old age ain't for sissies.

I fellow here in San Jose here had the AS done here with excellent results.

He went for the exam on one day and was diagnosed him and scheduled for the next day...He was a bit in shock at the rapid scheduling so thought about it for three days and then had it done.

The Hospital was Clinica Biblica, don't know the Dr.

Two of my friends here in CR have had major knee surgeries. There is a really good orthopedic out of CIMA. I will get a name and number and PM the info to you.
