After wanting to go to this place for the past 4 years, I finally made
it for lunch today. I did not read this thread prior to eating there, so
I am the human guinea pig when it comes to their cole slaw.
Actually, I really liked the cole slaw (so far). It seemed very fresh.
Maybe I was lucky.

The meat was thick and very tender, on long bones -- very flavorful.
Here I am being very picky, but I have to say that I prefer a smokey
flavor (hickoryh preferred), deep in the meat. Still it was damn good.

I agree that the sauce could have been spicier. I like
lots of black pepper in a sauce, and the waitstaff were amused
when I unscrewed the top of the pepper.

Surprise pleasure: the beans were great. I grow beans in my garden,
so I cook lots of beans. Very important to me is that these beans
were not overcooked, so that they burst with flavor, mixing with
the pork sauce on the beans.

On a Sunday afternoon, I was the only gringo there. There was a large
party of Ticos, some of whom came in BMWs, and there were some
families. I can live or live without the big-screen yodelers.

If I get sick in the next 24 hours from the cole slaw, I will post again.
If I don't post, that means I am either dead or lucky.

I went yesterday, mostly a proximity thing and also a recommendation of a friend here. It was open, obviously.

I thought it was pretty gross to be honest. The fried yuca was good (how hard is that?) and I thought they had good barbeque sauce but overall the meats were fatty, the fried stuff was way overbreaded (no concept of a chicken finger) and I thought the prices were a little heavy. Why should I pay Olio or Cafe Mundo prices for ribs/fingerfood???

we went on my last trip,,,not real easy to find (i had paco voice in my head...chilimike dont eat the slaw dont eat the slaw...so i didnt !!!) i felt the food was ok but way over priced ....but what took me back is how the groups of tico's could shell out 20 a head for lunch ? were on vaca with money to spend ...i dont like spening 20 for lunch ...but in a place that is on a back street with nothing to it, that's puts this place on a plane to charge 18.00 for ribs that might or might not be good ...the soda's we ordered all had rust on the top of the glass bottles ...you will notice this alot in san jose, sosua as the server will be wiping the top of your bottle before giving it to you....

Myself, Royboy and Gringotim eat there last week.A couple of words don't GO. Waited 10 minutes for a table not too long. Sat down and ordered our food came 1hour and 10 mins. later. Hot but not very tasty. The food overed priced $33 for ribs and chicken and 2 beers.

Buzzfla, I was waiting for you to respond to this thread. Actually, we waited at least 20 minutes for a table. Granted, there was that large group in the other area/room, but we indeed waited WAY too long for our food to arrive, and I concur, it was way overpriced.

Yes I go there a couple of times every visit, last time in April, and always found th Q to be good, like everyone else said the Cole Slaw is different from the states, they don't use mayo, so its more a vingerette dressing.
