Here is the non today specific link to the article just in case you want to read it
http://www.amcostarica.com/052509.htm

It mostly deals with language instructors, schools and call centers jobs and some of the false promises.

I thought it was good read though.

Greengo, sounds like you have some interesting knowledge of the subject. Care to elaborate?

Good catch, good post, Brother Patriot, especially to those of us that don't read the paper on a daily basis.
Mr. Baker has endured some past criticism on this Board, but I've found he speaks inconvenient, even brutal, truths to counter the Conventional Wisdom and myths about what CR is really about. Brother Greengo's post (unusually straightforward) acts to back up Mr. Baker's unattributed anecdotes.
This article and the embedded link should be required reading for all, but especially those of you that have sons and daughters, or friends that have dreams dancing in their heads.

Edited because I assumed Mr. Baker was an Attorney; there's no evidence he is.

As I have recommended before, if you want to live in CR, do so after you get your pension or other permanent means of support in line. Then rent and see if you like CR on a full time basis. If paradise turns sour you can still return home a little wiser. There are exceptions of course, but paradise can really trash your dreams when reality intrudes.
