After a year of reading this board (and now that I'm separating from the military), I decided to finally take the plunge!

I think I've read every newbie post there is.

I'm trying to set up a wingman tour with pops for my first day, and then once I get my feet a little wet I might start asking the fellow CRT'ers to show me the ropes.

I've taken 4 years of spanish in HS (and was even in the Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, but can hardly speak it). However, I'm on lesson 22 out of 90 of the Pimsleur method, and my conversational spanish is improving everyday!

I leave one month from today from EWR (Nonstop RT for only $294, awesome deal). I look forward to meeting many of you!

When you get there just go with the flow.

Read through some of the other sections. Search for posts from Circus, Orange, Projilo, Mucho Gusto, BangBang57 and Pacifica55. El Ciego has some good ones too.

Hopefully you will become a VIP but that choice is yours. Much of the best information needs VIP access.

IMHO CR has much more to offer than just Mongering but to each his own.

it turned out that i'm getting my passport 3 weeks earlier than i originally thought i would, so i pushed my trip up a week.

unfortunately, the SL was completely booked for that weekend. so i tried la amistad, but the only type of room they had available was a deluxe queen. so i took it before i ended up with absolutely no place to stay! lol

i'll finally be in CR in 19 days! omgosh it's getting so close!

My buddy and I are going down to SJ from the 12th to the 15th, and are also going to be at La Amistad. We both speak spanish, (1st and 2nd generation Mexican), hope we can have a beer at the SL with you guys.

Oh by the way, this is our 1st time going to CR for the night life.
