I would let you in the FRONT seat, but we would ALL BE DEAD in 2.38564 nanoseconds with you at the controls. :P  :P

No argument there. I do not claim to be a licensed helicopter or fixed wing pilot  and I only fly with those who hold ATR licenses. :P  :P

You better be damn careful then cause there is no ATR license or rating. There is a ATP rating, but hell fire and damnation... I don't need to tell you that. :P    :P

I always kind of thought that Berk and ID were the same person. Guess I'm going to have to re-read the CRT cast of characters again...

As for the accident itself, I think that it couldn't have happened to a better group of people, assuming that the pilot wasn't coerced and the cargo is properly disposed of this time.

Actually you did need to tell me that. Back in the old days Eddie Rickenbacker told me he had his ATR certificate. Seriously back in the 60's and possibly as late as the mid seventies an airline pilot ticket was an ATR. Not sure when or why the FAA in it's infinite wisdom  decided to change it to ATP.

Are we ever having fun with this topic? Oh, my.
Now the GPS was missing and the helo was found with 870 lbs. of dope. Maybe just maybe whoever took that GPS also removed as much dope as they could carry--we'll never know how much "cargo" that helo took off with. From the description from witnesses it sounds to this layman that the craft suffered sudden catastrophic engine or bearing failure. Gotta wonder why it didn't have at least some auto-rotation, instead dropping like a rock.
<signed> Just another topic sniper

We are only one in the same when one of us skips our medication.... wait... I don't take any meds!

Just because we might disagree, which is NOT always, doesn't me squat really. I have fond memories back in the day when we would go out to Sabana park with a couple of 8 week old puppies and try to pick up some hotties... worked every time.

Now... the puppies are old and we can't pick up toothless old women if we wanted too.

bump

some of the CR players involved with this accident, are possibly tied into the current SoFla Ponzi/money laundering scheme and some of those players, Rothstein, McDermott, and the boys in the Las Olas Street Band here in beautiful, downtown Florida.

figure 400 kilos cost around 80k in CR and wholesale for around 800k(min) here in SoFla.

nice work and mark up, if you can get it and with 10 to 1 profit margin.

even better margins if you got the balls to go to the production sources.

anyway, the Ponzi/money laundering scheme here is threatening to bring down all kinds of people from the Sheriff, Police Chiefs, local and state politicians, Banks, lawyers, you name it.....fubar.

even the mexican and colombian mafiosos are bitching about how bad business is here.

...And while we're bumping uglies (hey, ain't none of you are pretty boys), the FAA prolly changed ATR to ATP when they realized ATR was Automatic Tampax Remover (venture with us back to high school locker-room humor)...
