Have no problem with the Dodgers great start and certainly hope they continue to play great ball all season.

What concerns me is that your hyping a team seems to be the kiss of death. Examples, Dodgers last season, Jets last season, Heat this season.

Where will it end?

"...the weakest division..." is debatable; what's not is they are on the verge of breaking both NL and MLB records for wins at home, some dating to 1900. How about a strong kudos to the Dodgers and wishing them well?

C'mon fellas--A little respect here. Besides when Manny takes his usual month off, and Arizona and SF start eatin' the Dodgers lunch, then we can pile on. OK?

Talk to any stalwart Red Sox fan--they'll give you chapter-and verse on this--and most definitely a vacation with pay--injury-prone is Manny.

That was yesterday tell me about today. What I saw was a good pitching performance wasted by an awful defense. The result a 1 to zip game won by the Mets on a unearned run

Manny suspended for 50 games for a positive drug test:

The Giants front office is grinning from ear to ear… the decision to not bid for Manny is looking a little clearer now.

Doc made an error...Im sure Manny will appeal and get reinstated pronto...not to worry...

Bet YOU were grinning ear to ear there, signor Mendobrew  but at least you realize the only shot the Giants have is for the talented DODGERS to run into some bad breaks...good luck with that... :x :x :x

sorry guys, grab your crying towels.....

According to the Los Angeles Times, Manny Ramirez has been suspended 50 games for a positive performance-enhancing drug test.

The suspension will reportedly go into effect immediately and he's not expected to appeal.

UPDATE: Ramirez has issued a statement:

Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was OK to give me. Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now.

I do want to say one other thing; I've taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons. I want to apologize to [Dodgers owner Frank] McCourt, Mrs. McCourt, [manager Joe] Torre, my teammates, the Dodger organization, and to the Dodger fans. LA is a special place to me and I know everybody is disappointed. So am I. I'm sorry about this whole situation.

Ramirez has reportedly waived his right to an appeal and will forfeit nearly one-third of his $25 million salary. He'll be eligible to return on July 3. We'll have further news and analysis throughout the day, so keep checking back.
