The reports that I've been hearing lately - is that the winds are still blowing pretty good to the North, from the Pacific side of the Nicoya Peninsula - all the way up towards Nicaragua.
The billfish bite is still good in the Southern part of the country (Golfito, Zancudo, Osa Peninsula), and it's really turning hot along the Central part of the country (Jaco, Quepos, Los Sueños). Pretty good numbers of Blue and Striped Marlin have been caught, and the Sailfish bite has been about normal. Plenty of Dolphin (Mahi) and Tuna out there also.
I heard of a 68 lb. Bull Dolphin caught 2 weeks ago, about 18 miles offshore, just South of Playa Hermosa, with several other gaffers at over 40 lbs. Also, a few of the Yellowfin Tuna caught were estimated at well over 100 lbs. That's a LOT of sushi !!!
Good luck out there guys!
