910,
I'm a Presidente alumni as well, and felt the same way. it was nice being close to the action and able to walk to the DR and casinos at any time day or night while staying in a really nice hotel.
what happened to the Pres took about 8-10 years, i remember when the number of chicas in your room didn't matter. i still get a friendly greeting from some staff that have been there for years.
I have transitioned nicely to Sportsmens for my last 3 trips.
it is no doubt different, but i am comfortable. Sportsmens has a great staff.
i look back with fondness and look forward with excitement for new adventures.

I don't know about any 'Walk of Shame'. Anytime I have a hot Latina (or three) on my arm, it is more of the 'Peacock Walk'. I find absolutely no shame there. Well, there was that ONE fugly drunken night. But, we won't go there.
The SL is just too hard to get into anymore. Their breakfast's are top notch.
La Amistad: good hotel, good value. BUT, the last time I was there, we had some discrepancy as to the allowance of multiple chicas. Since Matt gave me the shitty room (w/out promised upgrade) by the coffee table, it was permitted. But the girls said only one at a time was policy. In fact, I had to call the second and have her join us after getting okay.

I love both hotels. but i stay in La Amistad most now.

both owners are firends and share many drink along with the girlfriends.

SL is a nice frat house IMO and La Amistad is a hotel. i can never get any sleep in SL, since im alway drinking at the bar and BSing with the guys there. my room of choice in SL is Amistad (bill's old room), lol since is away from the bar.

As for the walk of shame. I meet up with working and none working girl when i'm in CR. Is nice not to have the none working girl walk pass the pros.

As for Matt not having a choice to be the next SL. I'm pretty sure if thats what he wanted he would give SL a run of his money. but Matt wants the mix of people he gets. He likes the idea or getting people from TripAdvisor. he also don't want the issue that comes with having pros hanging around the hotel.

all in all is up to what you like. it's like when i talk to someone who never stay in HDR. i tell them, you should try it once. so i'll say the same for SL and LA. try both and see what you like; or split your stay  party hard the first part of your stay. then relax a bit at the end. just my $.02

I bought a kingsized from Matt over a year ago and it is as it was the day we unwrapped it. I dare say it has had a workout and we love it. We do have a box spring under it but I wouldn't rate it as "second best" because it isn't the "brand name".
