Ciao, I believe Cafe Mundo is gay owned and managed. Tin Jo may not be a gay restaurant per se in the sense that it is owned, operated or even catering primarily towards gays. However, for whatever it is worth, like Cafe Mundo and Olio, it IS one of just a small handful of restaurants in SJ that are being specifically recommended on gay CR travel sites.
As for the last comments in my post, they were done tongue-in-cheek and tossing someone else's salad would really be the furthest thing from my mind, though just the thought of it makes me feel much sicker even then I felt that night. Hopefully, you guys know me well enough to realize I wasn't really serious about that. I AM completely serious however about SOMETHING I ate at Cafe Mundo (probably the salad) making me violently (couldn't make it to the bathroom quick enough) ill.
i also became violently ill after eating at cafe mundo. in my case i had seafood. i think i was sick for 12 hours. maybe they spike monger food who knows. in my case i was eating alone.
as far as the gay thing, man if you haven't noticed that in san jose you are blind. its everywhere, from the lobby of amistad to the beachs of MA. the gay crowd is present and accounted for. no problem w me since i get along with them pretty well.
all but the militant dykes anyway.
