Seems like a bunch a confusion to me that could've been resolved with the right contacts. I hope that won't be the case when we arrive at SL. We have already made the reservation and excited as hell. Hey Bill, I look forward to meeting you and hope you have some fine chicas waiting for us when we arrive at your hotel, being that we are celebrating my Bachelor Party!!! We get there May 1st and reserved the OSO Mansion Suite with 3 king beds...need all the room I can get

okiemike,
Nothing personal, but I've been following along with your posts over the past few weeks since you joined, and I'm not sure that you're ready for CR yet. IMO, there seems to be a sort of paranoia / negativity in many of your responses on different threads. Just go with the flow, use common sense and you'll have a great time in SJO. Enjoy your trip.

I dont know what happened to my post but what I said is Im a little apprehensive because I have read so many negative posts about SJ in general. You guys I believe just stay in that little 1 sq mile area called the gulch and dont care to leave it because everything you need is right there. I on the other hand want to get out a little and explore the city and go where theres not a lot of gringos (nothing against anyone here) and go to the clubs and malls and restaurants and immerse myself inthe CR culture for a few days but what I have been reading on here I best not try that. Thats why Im coming across a little negative. Before I got on this site I was under the impression that going to CR was like going to Cancun as far as safety is concerned and thats not the case. I will not let any of that deter me though and will still head south (im thinking in mid august) and have a blast im sure.......

Well said MG, you took that thought out of my head. This isn't to pile on or anything okie because I've read your response but the perceived paranoia you have is a major buzz kill.

To that end, you can do all those things you want in CR but at this point I'm not sure you have the courage to get on a plane.

I mean CR is not so different then any major city in the U.S. Would it help if you knew spanish, obviously.

You gotta crawl before you walk, why not spend a few days just in the gulch, get a feel of what's going on, then do al the other immersion you want.

Particularly if you go late Aug, early Sept, there will be so many of us there if one of us doesn't know the answer to something, another guy will.

I'm all about being cautious or whatever but you cant live your life in the shallow end of the pool amigo.

Sorry Okiemike, but you're dead wrong about that.

I think you might be a bit surprised to find out just how many members venture outside the gulch on a daily and/or fairly consistent basis. Personally, I've spent more time in the provinces of Alejuela, Heredia, Puntarenas and Guanacaste than I've spent in the San Jose Province.

Bill at the SL (True Sportsman) settled this matter  :) :D :P WAY BACK!

Why are we still posting :?:   ??

Lemon Drop...next time you are at the SL I recommend taking a slight piece of the refund and buying a round for the bar. Then there would be a minimum of two class acts in the place.

I've been thinking the same thing. You guys who are "defending" Bill are just bumping up a thread with a thread title suggesting there is something wrong with your favorite place. How is that helping Bill or that place? And the same thing applies to you guys who are posting off the original topic. It may not be a flame that needs to be taken to the smack talk section, but can we at least take it out of this thread. LDK acted prematurely in raising an alarm without giving Bill a fair chance to do the fair thing (which he quickly did as soon as he was brought in and could check into it). This thread should never have been started to begin with but now that it has and has been settled, let's do the fair thing for Bill and allow it to be buried by the passage of time.

Wow! How short sighted on your part. I have been all around this beautiful country. I call them as I see them. I try to act as a gentelman but you, sir, need to get your head out of your a**.

Just my 2C...
