As a gringa with mid to high taste in my accommodations I have to say BRAVO to SL and the Mansion wing. I was pleased with my room (but I have to admit that I will book more in advance next time to get an even better one!)! I LOVED the convenience factor, and surprisingly enough, I ended up feeling pretty safe with my belongings there. Since I mostly come for work, I end up having a lot of computer/high-end electronics with me, so this was a pleasant surprise to feel so comfortable with things in my room.

Here is my pro's and con list:

Pro's:
The mansion rooms are as well appointed if not better then the Marriot's in the area
Staying at the SL is wonderful as everyone is really friendly and helpful
The private lounge is wonderful if you want to get away from the rest of the bar to hang out, work, or just relax in peace!
Location-Location-Location -- it's wonderfully close to everything, but in a nice calm area
    Wireless Internet is surprisingly snappy!!!
Free porn in the room ..... I don't know why, but I just though this was wonderful! :)

Con's:
If you are a non-smoker..... bring candles or linen spray with you as the rooms hold smells due to the moisture. (Yes, this is a girlie item)
Definitely not enough towels in the room, and you might be best suited to bring your own soap (hand-soap).
Bring Flip-Flops!!!! I found the floors and room to be rather humid, so much so that the carpet was touchable moist!

Overall, even my 'con' list isn't really much of 'cons' as much as suggestions for future trips!

VERY nice experience! Thank you Bill, Manfred, Mario, all the bartenders, and Yency!!!!

I must be in touch with my feminine side.

I always bring candles and incense. Also, if you have an FM radio 95.5 plays smooth Jazz, which many of the ladies really liked. A majority of the ladies said they enjoyed the ambiance of the room and music.

Being an old f*rt, with no game, I need all the help I can get. :)

SexxxyG,

SantaBro and I are in touch with our feminine side  :P  :?:

I am a big believer in candles for various reasons. As Santa mentioned, with the 95.5 FM on the radio, having 10-15 candles (aroma therapy) lit, sets a mood I am trying to create for my date. Add a little high quality scented massage cream and any inhibitions my date has regarding my Egor looks usually vanish.

I agree the smell of tobacco, especially in the bedroom is bothersome and found that any decent scented candle elimanates that stale bar room odor. Fresh Linen and Midnight Summer by Yankee have been received most favorably by the ladies

Santa ,you got more game than Kobie B. has in a Colorado condo

I totally agree with SexxyGirl. I stayed in El Mono on the 17th and 18th and the room was outstanding. Nothing negative to say about the room at all.

I was disappointed in the exercize room. VIsited it on Tuesday and I guess I expected a little bit more. Funny thing was that when I went to work out on Wednesday, the facility was just gone!! They were moving the machines to a new location, so I missed my workout that day.

The only other negative was that if you wanted to use the internet, there were times in the late afternoon/evening/night when the ticas were monopolizing the available systems. Technically they shouldn't be using the systems at all, since they are for paying guests only. But I do realize that they do provide a service to us by being there so did not complain. But if the guests are requested to limit the system use to 20 minutes as a courtesy to others, so should the ladies. Don't how this can be enforced, but it would be nice.

Other than that, Bill runs an outstanding establishment and if I return, I will be there!!

Hey Dude, I was in the guest in that room just before you. I have to agree with you. I also found the accommodations excellent. As with SG I also had tons of extremely high tech equipment which fit right in as well.

Glad you enjoyed the mansion wing, did you mention which room you were in?

I too recently completed a week long stay in the Mansion wing in the Puma room. Overall, a very nice room located just past the Mansion bar toward the back of the property on the first floor. My pro's and con's as follows

Pro's:

Being very sensitive to the scent of cigarette smoke I was not able to detect any smoke in the linens, bed, etc., which was nice, but I also always bring a large Yankee Candle with me and leave it to a chica before departing. They really love those.

Flat screen tv

Comfortable huge bed, good for tln's

Excellent AC unit

Room darkening blinds worked perfectly.

Hi Speed internet worked very well in the room.

Con's:

Closets. They didn't have any doors on them, was told when checking in that the closet doors were going on manana but manana never came for the doors.

No dresser / bureau, there's plenty of empty space under the tv for some type of dresser, especially if people are staying for extended periods and don't want to live out of their suitcases.

Bathroom: Not a fan of walking upstairs to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Shower doors were broken, wouldn't close all the way and wouldn't stay on their runners.

Given the choice of staying in Puma again or staying in the room I previously was in twice, Las Palmas, I'd have to choose Las Palmas. The $40/night increase for Puma just wasn't worth it to me.

Special thanks to all the faithful employees of SL. It really goes to show you how well they're treated by Bill when you don't see any turnover in employees. It appears that once someone works there, they don't leave.

Gracias Bill, Manfred, Suzy, Yency, Carlos, Marco, Karol, Asta, Shirley, I know I'm forgetting one girls name but she's a sweetheart too and lastly, the lovely Laureen. You all do a remarkable job and make your guests feel very welcome.

Pura Vida,

Kevin

If you want a nice bathroom, try El Leon. Great huge mirror, nice to get a chica to prop her leg up on the sink. 8)

Ahhh Las Palmas. I busted my CR cherry in that room, great room. Much like Amante.. 8)
