I'm not sure "unappreciated by the recipients" is really the best way to put it. That might suggest that the recipients actually RESENT his "RFM". They probably WOULD have resented it
IF they had understood that LK was being SARCASTIC and was really just MOCKING them. HOWEVER, I seriously doubt most of them are that sharp. If anything was "unappreciated" by them it was the basic fact that LK wasn't even being serious. The real reason LK didn't get more replies was probably because the chicas were CONFUSED by LK's RFM, didn't know what the hell to make of it and were thinking "Is this rich gringo crazy?" Most of them probably answered that question "Yes" and decided to completely ignore the "crazy" request. "Screw him," they figured. OTOH, that one chica who did respond probably had the same answer as the others only she figured it was her opportunity to send a "You think you have problems, well mine are much worse so YOU still need to send ME money." Never mind the fact that, whether it was just sarcasm or a serious request for money from them, LK's RFM should still have been seen as an explanation of why it would be completely out of the question for him to send anything to them. And that was what was "unappreciated", er excuse me, not understood. The fact that this chica couldn't even figure that out only goes to show how dense and brazen some of these chicas can be
(unless, of course, she's just being sarcastic back and I'm the one who is dense
