Yes if you're a guest you can get it during business hrs. I always got it at checkout, one less line to stand in at the airport.

Don't know about that one. I've never stayed at the Prez, but I've paid my departure tax on two different occasions there. I just walked in with my passport, and I was outa there within 5 minutes. Maybe he just assumed that I was staying there? But it's been a couple years since I've done that, so maybe they've changed their rule(s).

Yeah they probably thought you were just staying there, I always charged it to my room but it seems like they always asked my room #, maybe it doesn't matter if you just pay cash.
As always when entering the departure area at the airport if you go to the left counter there is rarely ever a long line, most everyone else goes to the right side.

Well, nowadays - every trip to CR I have to make my obligatory side trip to Playa Flamingo for business. I'd like to stay in SJO and do nothing but phuck every minute of the day, but I tend to be "wasteful" with my time in CR. And since I always take Nature Air or Sansa into Liberia, I just get my departure tax there, while waiting for my return flight to SJO. There's never a line, and I'm usually at the airport 60 minutes before my flight anyways. If nothing else, it gives me something to do while waiting for my puddle-jumper flight. Although, I know that most guys don't have this option. But for me, it works.

They only do it for guests. I tried it twice and both times I was asked for my room number. The one time I was staying there, no problem. The other time I said that I wasn't staying there, they said "sorry for guests only". But I think it depends on who you is working that desk, you may get lucky.

All my experiences with the Presidente lead me to this statement:

"The Presidente sucks donkey dick"
