I only have two days I will be arriving in San Jose at 2pm on a saturday and flying out at noon on Monday and will be solo. What I think I would like to do is stay in San Jose the first night (maybe SL or am open to other suggestions) Try out a girl or two at the suggested spots and take the one I like the most home for the night. If it went well I would want her to come with me the next day to a hotel in a beach town(open to suggestions). What I dont want to happen is to take her to a nice place and have trouble getting her in the door. I would rather stay at a nice place the second night, on the beach or in the jungle. Money is not a huge issue on this trip as i have only two days but at the same time do not want to get taken. Here are a few questions?

How much is it usually to take a girl for 24 hours if you pay her expenses?

What beach town would you suggest?

If Jaco should I just find a girl down there? Maybe skip the night in san jose

I hear Jaco is not that pretty. Is there a beach area that you would suggest and a nice hotel that I will have no problem shacking up with a tica at?

Is there any specific girl that you know of that would be good on this trip?

I am really looking for a combo of mongering, a female tour guide, some pampering and sun and seeing some cool stuff in two days...

Modify your plans to stay in SJ for both days. 2 hours-ish each way to a mediocre beach (Jaco) doesn't seem worth it IMHO.

I have done plenty of 2 day trips, either to hang with a favorita, or just partake in the carnal activities that SJ has to offer.

IMO, use this 2 day trip to set up your next trip. See what you like/ dislike about SJ, search a little better for a beach favorita, and save that for next time. Maybe pop into an MP to see if that is your scene, definitely put in some SL time, and certainly troll around HDR.

Again, just MHO, but for a 2 day, stick to SJ. And don't discount the possibility of flight delays! No biggie on an extended stay, but a HUGE deal on a weekender

Jaco is not a very pretty beach and you will just be wasting your time going back and forth during your short stay. I recommend that you stay and play in SJ. You can still manage a short day trip if you want to the La Paz Waterfall Garden Park or to Donde Alcides for a pork chop lunch. If you find a nice chica you could hire a cabbie to take you to Zoo Ave for 3-4 hours and have a great day trip plus a lunch on returning.

Hi Bin, and welcome to CRT! :D

I agree with the previous posters. While C.R. is a small country (about the size of West Virginia), travel to the beaches can be very time-consuming.

However, since you asked:

My favorite beach town within a 4 hour drive from San Jose is Manuel Antonio. The Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio was C.R.'s first national park, and the beaches there are tremendous, particularly Playa (beach) #3 in the park.

There are a number of hotels in the area that permit gringo/hooker guests. I like Costa Verde, but there are numerous others.

The problem with finding a companion for the weekend on such short notice is that many of the women (if not most) have ch*ldren and family obligations and will not be able to do even an overnight on such short notice. Not to mention that it can be difficult to find a girl with the right combination of looks, price, personality etc. Speaking Spanish will be very useful in your search, so if you don't speak Spanish, better find a wingman to help you with the interviews.

Try this: Pampering? Stay at the Sportsmen's Lodge or one of the other nearby hotels (Amistad, Castillo, Dunn Inn, Vesuvio, Clarion Amon Plaza, Hotel Little Havana). In the case of the SL and HLH, there are girls on-site who will provide anything from an excellent non-sexual massage to a pronstar experience. You'll still get to eat and drink the local cuisine, and any of these hotels will know how to get you onto a fun day tour. Zoo Ave/Bird Zoo has been mentioned. There is also a three-in-one tour that gets you close to a volcano and includes a tour of a coffee plantation. You could spend the afternoon disturbing the ecology on an ATV or even make a run to Jaco, just to check it out.

I believe the absolute shortest trip on which you could accomplish your goals would be 5 days or more. This is especially true if theis is your first trip to C.R., your first trip which will include fun with the prostitutes, or both.

Read the Newbies section, Hotels section and the General Information section to learn a lot of useful stuff. Use the Search function to get specific questions answered. And be sure to let us know how your trip went! :D

Again, welcome to CRT. If you're planning any trip, a V.I.P. membership will get you a discount card that can save you the cost of membershipt in just a couple days. And, your V.I.P. membership also allows you to see the photos/vids in the galleries and participate in a members-only forum here on CostaRicaTicas. And no, I'm not an employee or owner of CRT; I'm just a Lifetime Member. :D

Good luck!

Oops, I forgot to address one of your questions: How much?

I've heard prices ranging from the cost of a new bathing suit, food, drink and fun to $1,000/day plus expenses.

Remember that a trip to the beach is a rare treat for some of these working girls, although few will see the value in a one-night beach trip. There's just not enough time. Generally, I've been quoted prices of as low as $100.00/day for a beach trip, and I'm sure it can be done with the right girl.

Jaco is a dirty beach with shit infested water, and it is hotter (more humid) than hell there.

Stay in San Jose, and have a good time.

If you really want to go to a decent beach, plan a side trip to Guanacaste area (Flamingo) or Manuel Antonio next trip. Those are 2 nicer beaches, but they are further out.

Your stay is awful short, however, the advice to stick to San Jose is good if you only want to monger. If you want to get a feel for the country that is outside the city, then a trip to the beach is a good way. Again, because your time is short.......consider a day in SJO and then fly on Sansa Air or Nature Air to and from one of the beach areas. In truth, none of CR's beaches match the pure white sands of Florida. Taking a girl to the beach is a huge risk as you may not be compatable and she may spend her time trying to manipulate you for money and gifts. I think Jaco is a good choice because the streets are lined with neat cafe's with pretty good food. For female company, there is still the Beettle Bar, with many companions to choose from. Most important is to be safety and security conscious.

Usually an excellent choice, however the facility is still closed due to damage from the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that hit that area last January 8th. They expected to be closed for 3 months while they clean up and repair the damage. If they are on schedule they should re-open soon.

thanks for all the help guys
I think the tica to the beach idea is not my best. I will probably just stay in SJ for whole time and take a day trip. Is there any other places you would suggest to go?

Other than the 3 in 1 trip already mentioned, there are great whitewater rafting and ATV tours within striking distance of SJ. Also, there's the Lancaster Gardens, Zoo Ave as mentioned, the Poas volcano, the Basilica in Cartago, the National Theater and Metropolitan Cathedral for architectural interest. oh yeah...prostitutes.

Congratulations on joining V.I.P. Go to the V.I.P. page now and download/print the map; you'll find it very useful. Also, you might want to take a look at the Newbies and Massage Parlor sections, and the Girls Review to find out about other locales and providers.

I hope you'll return, and that you'll make your next trip to wonderful Costa Rica longer. :D

For a complete (and I mean complete) rundown on SJ daytrips, scout up Brother Prolijo's posts on the subject--go to "Search" and punch in Prolijo on the 2nd line. For ATV tours out of SJ, look at Paraiso ATV Tours--a CRT Sponsor--Cary will treat you right. There was a Thread on this recently and everybody had a rootin' tootin' good time, rookie and veteran alike. You a cigar smoker? Or got buds in the States who are? Consider a 1/2 day trip to Don Ursulo's cigar factory (he's a CRT Sponsor too but all the Sponsors are carefully chosen, I believe--no jamokes among them). Need a wingman? Go to SL near about any time but especially Happy Hour--some or another "Right Guy" will be pleased to show you what's what. Remember here--Spontaneity rules and you will get gloriously laid. Leave all those frets and worries behind.
