Hi everyone! I just got my tesol diploma, for those who do no know what that is: with this diploma you can teach English abroad, for example in Canada and that is exactly where I want to go! I already spent several holidays in this beautiful country and I thought it would be a challenge to go and live there and to teach English. Are there any “fellow teachers” that already have experience teaching abroad? But before leaving to Canada I feel like I deserve a nice and relaxing time so I’m planning a holiday to Tenerife. Some friends of me went there last summer and told me it is a great island. Hopefully they’re right! Maybe you can also give me some advice for some sightseeing? I really hope someone can help me! Thanks anyway.

Umm, don't a lot of the people in Canada (except for the east side) already speak English? All of my Canadian friends speak perfectly good English. Besides, there are plenty of TESL jobs in CR. I would prefer to winter there if I had the choice.

As far as Tenerife goes, you can expect to find all of the Canary Islands overrun with British, European and Scandanavian tourists. Even though the islands belong to Spain there is not much that is "Spanish" about them. On the plus side, the weather is fantastic, the beaches are topless and there is some P4P action in some of the bars at night.
