spent 15 days in 312 4/18-5/3. staff and matt were great as always.
breakfast hot and fresh every morning, at least when i got out of bed to get it/
restaurant looks like its getting pretty close to ready. asta is pretty excited, and the place looks really nice.
still some issues with the water pressure and jacuzzis but my guess is that when the construction settles down better attention can be paid to the wear and tear issues of the hotel.
not a lot of overt construction noise in the hotel most days i was there.
sauna is working great.
and the sunsets off the balcony are awesome. not sure where i should post pictures.
nice restaurant right across the street with live music on friday nights, but not every friday, who knows? last night was memorable.
great deal imo.

BTW the nighttime guy is very graceful with the revolving door action just as a shout out to the owner.

That would be comparing a Hyundai to a Lexus. The Amistad is very nice and you will not be disappointed.

Hyundais are actually nice cars now. The Morazan is a Yugo. :D

But seriously, the Amistad is a huge upgrade over the Morazan.

I agree. Already made my reservations for Feb.7-10. Looking forward to it. Have stayed there before and made the stupid mistake last trip of staying at Marrecos.Never again. Amistad is my permanent CR hotel.Great group of people. Most comfortable beds in San Jose.

Really need to hear about the bar/ restaurant/ Lady Asta thing going on. I know the civil (well, OK, not so civil) authorities can hold you up nearly indefinitely but what's the current scoop? Damn, she's fine--in every way.

Just returned from another great stay at LaA. My 19th stay at LaA in the last 20 months.

Matt and staff go above and beyond. Anything is there for the asking, from cleaning you room at an odd time, to free laundry (well a small propina).

Thanks again for making my celebration week memorable. Can't wait for my return to my 2nd home in CR, Hotel Amistad...

Brother Hox and others--The Hotel La Amistad does indeed not just honor but welcomes use of the CRT Membership Card. A look at the CRT Home page, 2nd item down will show you the discount plans available. By the way, the La Amistad Website home page shows Brother Mkink and his fine staff (Mkink is the natty gent in the blue shirt on the right).
As to how it compares--LaA is a different experience--with no bar/restaurant as yet and Chicas have to be imported. If you meant only the rooms, they are I believe somewhat equal--but then I've never stayed at the SL so what do I know?
