Sportsman's Lodge, or Hotel Del Rey?

IMO, if you're only in town one day / night, you should absolutely stay in the "belly of the beast" - at the HDR. Since money is not part of the equation, you won't mind paying the $10 chica fee. The rooms are nothing special, but you'll have chicas available for the entire duration of your stay. During the daytime, you can always walk (or taxi) to the SL for a drink or to talk to some of the CRT members, or grab a chica.

Personally, I think the SL is a much nicer venue, but it has got a much different vibe. The bar closes at midnight, and there are no chicas available until around 8 a.m. the next morning. I don't know about you, but if I only had one night in San Jose, I'd want pu$$y available to me at all hours of the day and night.

If it's your one-and-only night in town and you wake up at 4 a.m. with "morning wood", here's the scenario:
If you're at the SL, you've only got 2 choices - go to the HDR, or spank your monkey until morning.
If you're at the HDR, you just take a 12 second elevator ride to the 1st floor and grab the 1st chica that catches your eye. You can be back up in your room with a warm Latina wrapped around you before you've lost that morning wood!

It's your choice... :!:

I'd paint a different scenario...

If I only had one 24 hr period:

Get a room at HLH, phuk ur brains out until about 6pm...

At this point you should know what girls you want to spend the night with you.

Reserve them for the night, maybe 2 or 3 of them...

Go back to phuking your brains out until 9pm, when they close.

Take your 3 chicas with you to dinner, have one blow you while you eat, or just have food delivered... get one or two more sessions in...

Around 11:30 or 12, go to Pantera Rosa, with, or without the girls - I prefer with...

from 12 to 5am hang at PR with your 3 ZB/HLH girls, and have as many sessions and lap dances as you can with as many PR girls as you can.

At 5am, leave PR, and head back to ZB with your 3 girls, and phuk your brains out until 9 or 10 am. At this point your overnight girls will have left, or are leaving.

Since HLH girls don't usually get there until 10:30 or 11, I'd head over to NF and hit several of the girls for fresh meat... they are all there by 9:30am.

Once you've had your NF morning wood session, go back to HLH and find somethings to keep you company until your flight leaves...

and THAT is how I would handle 24 hours in CR...

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it...

I've now done 3 trips that approximate this... I usually don't take the chicas to PR, b/c I've had a favorita there over the past 2 years, but she's not on the menu anymore, so I'm gonna be taking my HLH girls there next time...

QBF,
I must admit - that's another great scenario of what one can / should do with only one night in San Jose, especially since the OP mentioned that money was not an object. I didn't think of that angle because I've never stayed overnight at ZB/HLH.

The only downside to your scenario, is that by staying at the ZB/HLH - the OP would be limited as to the number of chicas that would be available for him at ZB/HLH. Plus, he'd have to make "arrangements" with the chica(s) ahead of time. To spontaneously find a chica spur-of-the-moment ( i.e. waking up at 4 a.m. with a hard-on) would be difficult if he was staying at ZB/HLH. Just my dos colones.

That's what the 12-5am trip to PR solves...

Most cabs charge 2,000 colones flat rate from SL to HDR. If you get a cab with a meter(maria) it will be less.

You have GOT to be shitting me!!! You pay 2000 to ride a cab 5 blocks!!!!

no wonder gringos get ripped off...

That ride should be no more than 500 colones... ON TOP OF THE FACT that you should just walk that distance, unless it's at night, and then you probably still should...

Whoa Rich gringo getting ripped off. Wait a minute. 2000 colones is less than $4 bucks.

I guess you missed my last sentence. If you get a cab with a meter (maria) it will be less.

I generally insist on the meter/maria.
Or negotiate a lower flat rate.

And yes my friends call me a cheap SOB for insisting on the Maria or negotiating a lower flat rate. So I obviously miscommunicated on the 1st post.

However we did pay 2,000 colones to Gato because he had a van and we loaded with up 10 guys. Gato is a SL recommended van operator.

The 2,000 colones is what the piratas are charging from the SL to HDR. Yes I recommend using a non-pirata and insist on the maria. However a newbie with 1 night in the gulch might find it easier to just grab a pirata and suck it up. Some of those Piratas hanging out at the SL speak some english, which may also be good for a newbie.

I walk it during the day alone. I have in the past walked it at night with a couple of guys. Not smart, but we have done it and survived. However we are getting more cautious.

500 colones from SL to HDR not anymore. The second the maria is turned on its 470 before you even move. I was in San Jose for 10 nights this month and that is what the meter always started on.

And no I don't let them keep the change or tip the taxi's!

Good call me cheap my friends do.

Sorry for the thread drift

Yes, the maria starts at 470, and if he gets above that before getting to HDR, he's taking you the long way, or you've hit traffic...

I will NEVER pay pirate rates. I don't care if it's only talking about $1, I refuse to get cheated... I have been known to fight over 300 colones with cabbies... I just REFUSE to get cheated.

Gato is a nice person but WAY overpriced. I have used him with groups, and in this case its worth it, but I have had him WAY over charge me for things, and generally will not use him.

I WILL talk to him, and he is a charming person, but... I generally prefer to walk to Calderon de la Guardia than pay those rates...

Also, I generally walk everywhere in SJO, even at night, and NEVER had the slightest inkling of a problem...

I stayed at the Sportmens Lodge last year it has maybe an average of 10-15 females on a fair night but the Del Rey which is 4-5 blocks away has 30-40 females but I like the Sportsmens Lodge maybe because last year I went just with myself and it was pretty quaint there dude.
