The other day a really cute chica disqualified herself from my colones by responding "cien por una hora" when I asked her "quanto". I have no problem negotiating with a chica at the DR who INITIALLY asks for cien, BUT the "por una hora" just rings a bell in my head that she won't be a very good time anyways. NEXT

There has been a lot of "boycott commentary on CRT recently about different topics. Personally I don't think we could change anything by banding together. However I would like to propose a "standardized CRT response" to the chica who says "cien por una hora" How about if we all respond "Quanto por 65 minutos?" I have tried it before and gotten a wide-eyed response. It's quite funny when the chica actually contemplates her response. Most of the time she won't have a clue that you are just giving her a little shit.

VB .... This would require the purchase of a special DR calculator you can buy in the "very puta like" clothing store across the street from the Colonial. The calculator includes other upcharges including time in the taxi and wating time in the lobby.

Yes, we should band together.

IMO 59 minutes would be a better response, knowing how bad they are at basic math they probably think an hour has 100 minutes.

Good point VB.
We shouldn't always be too quick to walk away from the Cien girls. If you have some good chemistry going and really want her, you may be able to negotiate for more time or services for your cien. It may be a little tougher if she demanding cien for an HOUR but if she is just looking to earn cien, she may be more cooperative.

For me, one hour is the MINIMUM amount of time that I like to spend with a girl unless the whites of my eyes are turning yellow from DSB (Deadly Sperm Buildup!) so I often try to negotiate for more time. So, unless you are looking for a $40 quickie, a Cien girl may turn into a $50 (or less) per hour chica.

I have to question the above gentlemen if they wouldn’t be better serve by learning Spanish or increase their Spanish Language skills. It seems to me that you are looking to disarm the chicas and what better way to do it with talking your game. Banding together or just playing numbers with the chica might put her on “alert” mode and that means she may never come down. Look for the root cause of your problem and a solution will be better applied.

Sandra the Colombiana:

Offered an hour for cien. I countered with 90 minutes for $130.00 with the possibility of a $20.00 propina if the session rocked my world.

We got back to the SL and she demanded the $150.00 up front. "That wasn't our deal," I complained and immediately began guiding her to the door. "My bad Spanish," I suggested. "No offenso, mami'."

"No, I want the amount we agreed...a hundred - fifty."

"No. Our deal was a hundred thirty for 90 minutes with the possibility of up to a $20.00 propina."

I then offer $100.00 for one hour, including the time we've already spent in the cab and haggling at the room.

She refuses. I tried to get back to the original offer/price/time, but now she's got the $150.00 in her sights and won't let go.

Eventually, with me insisting that she leave with $2.00 taxi fare, she relents. "I don't want to get a reputation of being the whore who screwed over a blind guy," she explains.

Total time in room/cama: 90 minutes, more or less. Total cost $102.00.

Ya just never know.

How was the session? Shit. A total waste of a Benjamin and a red fish.

Ah well, someday I'll learn. Maybe I'll even de velop as muchh game as some of the vets and expats around here. One can only hope. :D

El C-

Don't worry, it happens to all of us at one time or another. There is not a monger on this planet who has been doing this for any length of time who hasn't had a similar experience. The trick is to keep it to an absolute minimum. Lots of time we are too tired too hassle, don't want to face the prospect of not getting laid, say 'what the hell, it won't be THAT bad', it's late and I don't want to go out and find another one, etc etc etc. Chalk it up to life in the big city so to speak and then NEXT............... I'm sure your good times far outweigh the bad.................

VB I have never paid a cien (yet). But I have never had a problem with negotiation. Someone said to me once that we all are attracted to the same type of women (no matter where we are). I really think that holds some water since I have been to CR. Since there are so many ladies there I notice that I wind up with a tall long legged Tica almost everytime 8)

I do wonder if they are just as attracted to me (though I am not much to see  )

If that is true those type of Ladies like big burly guys 8)

So my point is everytime I have talked and developed chemistry with a Tica (something you taught me) They responded with a Cien and I say 60 we settle on 70 or 80. Everytime :!:

I would never Ras a cat for giving a Cien if that is what he wants 8)

But I would suggest finding a chemistry first and see where it goes 8)

In 2004 I was negotiating with a Del Rey regular (Sandra, cute, petite, about 26 then, speaks English, has a sister in Tampa). Of course she wanted "$100". I countered with "40,000 colones". She said, "44 since that would be $100."

Now do you think these ladies don't know math?

I always negotiate. If she insists on cien, I walk. I even had one this trip ask for dos cien....My last few trips, I can't believe how many think they can even approach cien. Some are not even hotter than a lot of the MP chicks. Hell, many are downright ugly. On the other side and it takes some "work," I had 2 girls say $50 for both, another for $50, one for $40, and many $60-$80 ranges. Oh, and some even said, "you don't have enough money :P

And a few "just didn't like me." Imagine that

I'm not here to argue about paying cien, but I will say that I won't ever understand why guys get so worked up over the bottom dollar.

More effort should be put into the type of experience your going to have. If you're a standard 1 hour guy with the chicas then I guess money would be forefront on the mind, but guys should be seeking a better experience.

Like I've said, the biggest variable in CR is what each of us pays and the kind of service we get. Who cares if you saved $30 if it was lame anyway...

Sky,

You best learn at least a tiny amount of spanish. How to count to 100.

Cien is spanish for 100. por is spanish for "for", una is spanish for "1" or "an" and hora is spanish for "hour".

Without knowing even this much, you're not going to get very far in Costa Rica.
