CR Virgin - Newbie!

I heard that it is a big deal in CR.
Is that true?
Are the brothels, bars, touristic places, tours, fishing etc still open on that day?
Is there any "crazyness" for fat tuesday?

Might be a "big deal" with very religious Ticos but you will not notice anything different. Fat Tuesday is not celebrated.
