Saw this ad in Tico Times or wherever......more useful for those living there.....however.....numerous phones for sale AND the person is also selling several S.A.'s which each have a phone and a sidearm .....interesting....

That's quite an inventory, looking at this I guess his business ventures whatever they were didn't work out so well in CR-

You have to very careful about purchasing an existing SA. You become responsible for any debts, pending lawsuits, unpaid taxes, judgments, etc. against that corporation.

Having an attorney draw up the paperwork for a new SA is not expensive and a much safer way to go.

Yep, here's what they wrote at the bottom of the ad:

Thanks for this caveat, ID. I was just supplying data....

An issue is how do you know the Tico law firm does what needs to be done? It's quite a challenge when one's knowledge base legal wise is all U.S.A. Glad your down there running interference and most likely would have ideas as to who you would use for the correct formation of the S.A.

You are so correct about not buying much of anything in CR until one has lived and rented for a time to get to know the lay of the land....if that is even possible in a complete sense....

You'll see some phones for sale with the line which are the TDMA techology. The frequency they use are going to be taken over by GSM or perhaps the 3G lines. It's supposed to happen sometime this year, maybe next. So keep that short life in mind when considering a purchase.
