And lets not forget one very important factor in this issue. It really is not that totally important whether it is a female or not. Yes a women may be more out spoken against prostitution, but what is really important here with this issue is not who is the candidate, but who has the money, power, and influence in Costa Rica.

There is a group of these people who are very much opposed to prostitution in "their" country, and if anyone thinks this group is concerned with the loss of imcome for the country and it's citizens, you are sadly mistaken. They could care less about the loss of an estmated 5%of tourist business. Hell one of the bigget oppontants owns the beer buisness here. And I am sure mongers consume more than 5% of the beer in this country!! jeje!! This group, and their money, will support who ever will fight to end prostitution in Costa Rica, and they will be very out spoken.

I obtained an answer on the Johnny Araya issue. He has taken what we in the U.S. would call a leave of absence.

If Johnny is not successful in his primary bid for the presidential nomination he can return to the position of Mayor of San Jose.

Thanks for getting the answer to that amigo. As I said previously I really do not think that is a bad idea as a candidate for such a major office is really to busy campaigning to spend anytime doing the job they were elected to but they continue to draw the paycheck. Obama, Mc Cain, Biden, Palin, Clinton , in the U.S are a good example of politicians campainging and still getting paid but to busy to do the job they were elected to do.
