OK, I made the "mistake" of booking Easter week in CR. Can anyone give tips for that week. Also, do taxis run on Thursday and Friday? What about taking a jungle tour or getting to the beach? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

F'Cat

Yes, it was a mistake. Go to the beach or an eco-lodge like the Ticos and the tourists. :D

A great majority of the locals head out, and alot of them go the various beach towns, so make your reservations now.

There are always chicas to be found, but nowhere near the quanitity and probably quality that you have at any other time.

Plus, there is no alcohol sale Thur-Sun, and possible the whole week (not sure). Many places are closed or on limited hours during that time.

Be warned, if you go to the beach, or any resort area, they will charge you 2x their normal rate. They do this because they know the demand outstrips the supply. Everyone wants to go to the beach that week.

You can find ticas in town, but the supply will be diminished. But, thankfully, so will the number of gringos.
