Let me guess..........bad spelling? The security guys at the Del Rey are about as decent as you will find in Costa Rica. If you got bounced....it was probably for good reason.

I never had any problems with the bouncers at the DR. On my last trip I talked with one of them for quite a while. They are pretty decent guys. As mentioned in another thread there are always two sides to every story but You might have deserved to be booted out. And no matter how much money you might have been throwing down, it is chump change to the DR. "Paht C's" will not protect you from wrong behavior.

Can anyone offer an english translation of Bibbers post? I have seen a lot of guys in the DR that should have been booted out but never have seen it happen.

I have seen people get tossed, one night one of the chicas in the bad chica section of the VIP gallery wigged out when some crazed loon kept following her making rude comments.

I didn't hear any of the comments offhand but he was very creepy to say the least

I saw one drunken tool thrown out after starting a fight with a chica and screaming at her in the casino, then he kept trying to come back in and fighting with security until the cops showed up.
I've also seen a fair amount of ugly-american behavior tolerated, one morning a loud drunk gringo (probably been drinking all night) was dancing on the bar, security guys were shaking their heads before they came over and politely told him to get down. They have a high tolerance for gringos behaving like real stupid asses IMO, chicas on the other hand had better not step out of line at all or they're booted muy rapido.

Well, tell us what happened.

I agree. These guys have to deal with loud, obnoxious, drunk idiots on a daily basis, and they've built up a tolerance for an awful lot of bad behavior. I've talked with many of the security guys in the DR, and found them to be pretty good guys, just working for a living. If someone gets kicked out of the DR, chances are pretty good that they definitely deserved it - no matter how much money they're spending. Like someone said... it's just chump change to them. They're not impressed with Mr. Big Spender. My dos colones...

I personally like the security guys at Del Rey.Never had a problem with them at all.If I took a favorite the last night, a few of the security guys will tell me if she is there the next night.Very friendly bunch.I have never thrown down "fat C's". My C's are quite skinny, as a rule.
I have been thrown out of the casino at Morazon, though. A tica decided she wanted my machine.I had 5k colones in the machine, had purchased a drink, and was playing. The tica approached me, asked "habla espanol"?
After I said si she explained to me it was her machine and I had to get another one.I told her politely in my best espanol that I was here first but when I was finished I would look for her.She got the guard at the door to ask me to leave.I told him it is your country.If you don't like gringos, I will not bother you.But I want my 5k colones back.Never got the colones back.She had a silk type handbag.She had placed it near where I had my drink sitting.So maybe on accident my big hands happened to hit the glass and knock the contents on my rum and coke on to her handbag.OOPS.

In my experience, the HDR bouncers are on our side all the way. We are their bread and butter. I have seen man/ho altercations when I would assume the guy was about to get tossed. Typically, the bouncers separated the combatants and let them both stay. When someone was asked to leave it was the chica, not the gringo!


The "crazed loon" was an ex-boyfriend who was upset because of the break-up and seeing his ex working. She had been drinking Tequila with another group of guys when Mr. Gottahaveher decided to start some shit. She took as much as she was going to, then clocked him with a bottle. Can't say as I blame her.

My bet is that "Bibbers" is an imbiber of mass quantities and rightfully got tossed. Just a guess.

I think you have got to be a real asshole to get tossed..... I used to drink quite heavily there at times... One time had a problem with a chica and even though it was her fault ( won't go into the subject matter ) and got a bit loud with her... The guys discretely took me to the side and told me that while they understood, I needed to calm down... Nuff said... Told them sorry, they were very cordial and there was no problem... I don't think they are heavy handed at all.

My guess was that dude wanted chica who took one look and wanted a cien and a half. So dude followed her around effectively blocking her from gathering her ransom from another well intentioned gent who wouldn't have been aware that despite her high sticker price, she has a habit of re-negotiating in the room, hence her inclusion on the bad chica list.

Now if said dude had been smart enough to be a CRT member he could've saved his trouble and not been tempted to drop phat C's on bad cheese.
