As a long time casino employee ( dealer to pit boss, ok pit manager I need to chime in on this one.

Most civilians have no idea the crap (no pun intended) that craps dealers put up with. A crap game can take on a "mob mentality" very fast, and some of the biggest pain in the ass out right nasty gamblers on Gods green earth are craps players, not all of course but a much higher percentage then gamblers who play other games regularly.

As for Asians...if you get a good local base of them playing in your casino, especially a small one like the horseshoe or the colonial they will easily fund the joint.

Peter-Blastinoff Now that you mention it, that was the name of the game the guy said they were playing. Not being a gamer I could not recall what he termed the game; but it was Pia-Gow.

It's a high limit pai gow room. If you made a fuss and showed the bankroll, you'd probably be allowed in, but most the gringo tourists looking for a quick hand would just piss off the regulars.

If you make a fuss most likely the only door you will see is the one that leads to the street. They are very very serious about allowing only Asian high rollers into that room.

If you recall when they hosted a party for CRT VIPS a few nights before the aborted anniversary party admission was strictly limited to CRT VIPS and Chinese who play in the pai gow room.

This "Off-limits-except-to-knowledgeable (usually Chinese) high-rollers" is not just a CR thing. That's pretty much the deal in Atlantic City as well. These folks take their gambling very seriously and the house takes them very seriously.
