Admin1, are you sure that it works that well? I use Globalink as a translator. It works fairly well, but it takes about three or four 'passes', with spelling and grammar corrections on my part, to get close to the
intended meaning of the message/letter. I'd be interested what algorithms the translator you mentioned uses to correct the spelling and
grammar mistakes. I suppose if a word did not match a valid word in the
dictionary, the algorithm could attempt to correct phonetic errors by
substituting 'v' for 'b' etc. Correcting the grammatical, syntactic and
semantic errors would be more difficult.
Most of the chicas use atrocious spelling and grammar. I've corresponded with chicas from all backgrounds and education levels, and
the differences are minimal. Even the college-educated chicas can't
write an error-free letter/email! Pathetic. I had a couple of chicas
who would never use periods at the end of sentences. That makes it very difficult for translation software. It was like the letter/email was one
long sentence. I told them a couple of times to use periods at the end of sentences. It would improve for perhaps one letter/email, then the following correspondences would revert to the same format. I realize that many college-educated people in the US can't spell or form proper sentences, but how hard can it be to add a period at the end of a sentence?!
