Concerning your first comment - I am generalizing like I said. But, so are most gringos when they fall for the "I'm a poor chica in Costa Rica. I have two Babi*s and my ONLY option is to hook and take one for the family." Not all these girls have it that to bad. Some of the more successful hookers in the DR DO MAKE BETWEEN $50K and $100K per year. This is 10X the national average salary. Other than the obvious math... all they need is 1 client 5 days per week to make close to $25K tax free. There are girls that work 6 days a week and are making multiple trips up the elevators EVERY NIGHT. I get dizzy watching some of the girls doing a lap, going up the elevator, doing another lap, going up the elevator. Some are making good money, on a relative scale. How many gringos on this board are making $100K per hour? My guess is not many.

Now, I'm NOT saying they are financial wizards. Most flush their money down the toilet. They live in the next few hours and do not plan or save. There is a huge difference between income and true wealth. Many women in Latin America have zero knowledge when it comes to finances, because that is not their place in the family. The man brings home the money. The man makes decisions about the money. This is a general statement, but generally true.

I'm also not saying that they all are this successful either. BUT MANY ARE A HELL OF A LOT BETTER OFF THAN WE THINK. They are certainly better off THAN THEY TELL US with their stories woe, misery and hardship.

Concerning your second statement, I'm not really sure what you are trying to say. YES!!!! They are absolutely willing to do just about anything for a $100 green back. Its called greed and laziness. They want a quick buck. Nothing more.

The eternal debate goes on. My conclusions:

There are hookers who make lots of money.
There are hookers who don't make much.
There are hookers who make a lot sometimes and not much other times.
Nobody HAS TO HOOK to make a living.
Some (or most) that hook feel it is the best option for them.
There are lots of dishonest hookers.
Hookers usually have sob stories.
Some (or many) of the sob stories are fake.
Some hookers have drug problems.
Some hookers have boyfriend, husbands or girlfriends.
Getting emotionally involved with a hooker generally not a good idea.

You need to broaden your horizons is all I can say. Along with Brazil, Costa Rica is the most sexualitied country in the Western Hemisphere. Everyone is phucking everyone else. The reality that the line between who is a puta and who is not is very burly in Costa Rica.

Almost everyone has worked at jobs they hated solely for the money. Iknow I have. Most people are for sale. The situation determines the price. If my K*ds needed food, I would do about anything with selling my ass to rich women being easier than robbery and murder. Americans, on the average are some of the most blessed by birth people in the world. Everything is handed to them on a platter. I was the son of a depression era woman from a realitively poor family. She was not well educated but worked day and night to give me the oportunity to get an education. That option is not available to all in Costa Rica. My novia is from a family with 10 Ch*ldren. She was the oldest. The girls hit the streets as soon as they are able to get away from conditions within the house. They end up pregnant at 16 or 17 and the cycle starts again. For the poor here, school is available but a luxury. In the poor neighborhoods the majority never finish highschool. These K*ds are exposed to the same media barrage that K*ds in the USA are tempted by. Material things and easy lifestyle are not They come from disfuctional families and are almost always damaged psychologically. My novias father's way of correcting homework errors was to hit her. They are lied to by novios who say they love them, get what they want and split as soon as the girl gets pregnant. They learn to use people the way they feel they have been used. Will they take advantage of you? In a second. Will a gringa take advantage of you? Only difference is the gringa will get you for a thousand times more than the Tica. Know what you are getting into in any relationship. They all come with baggage. Are the rewards worth the headaches. In my case they are. I get a 23 year old who provides for my physical needs and the self satisfaction of helping my novia and two K*ds to have a much better life than they would have had without my financial and paternal assistance. I grew up without a father and know the pain of feeling unwanted. I give two boys my love solely because it makes me feel better. The love I receive in return is priceless. I wish I could do more for them. Enjoy your life but never judge the actions of others without taking into account that their individual circumstances were different than yours. Many actions are inexcusable and require accountability such as rape, murder, Ch*ld molestation but the anger or psycological disfuction that created the problem is understandable. Feel fortunate for what you have regardless of how hard you worked for it. Don't begrudge anyone wanting a better life and not knowing exactly how to acheive it. The efforts of many generations of Americans made possible what you have. The plight of these people is the result of generations of conditions different to what we have experieced. Chao
