I am thinking about trip down from the 25th to Jan 3. I spent this time of year in Belieze a while back and was very disappointed. Instead of festivities every place was closed, Boxing Day, New Years Day etc. etc. What is CR like during this peroid? Nightlife? Available talent?

Is there a nice beach with many working girls? I have been to Haco and great night life but the beach left something to be desired.
Thanks

Its a Catholic country so most things are closed during that time. The only girls around are the really hardcore or undesirables.

This whole country closes down for the holidays. Pick another IMHO.

You will probably find the lowest prices and the best providers during this time.

Those chicas that are preparing to leave to go home to Colombia or Dominican are working hard to make funds for the trip.

Those chicas that have not left yet. Those chicas that dont plan to leave are usually making up for times they did not make anything during heavy competition nights. I have gone during Christmas and been quite satisfied with the ones left behind. Did not even notice any fat uglies.

"festival de la luz" "festival of lights".

No comparison to USA Christmas parades, however decent for third world standards.
50

This will be my first CR Christmas (we spent the day adorning the tree). There are two distinct fields of thought on the "off" times. Having spent last spring here through the religious holidays (some would argue the most "off" time of the year) I will comment.

For the weekend traveler without connections off-season can be a bit daunting. The HDR/KL scene is a mere shadow of what it will be in January. The all-out party guys may be disappointed.

However, the girls who are still here are about the same 3 doables out of 10 ratio that you see the rest of the year. There are few big spending gringo tourists in town and the girls can be very agreeable. For a guy making a return trip who was not afraid to hang on to an email address or two and a few phone numbers it can be an off-the-hook experience.

Costa Rica: It is what you make it, regardless of season.

I'll be making my first trip to CR over the Christmas Holiday too. I'm glad to hear that all is not gloom and doom. I'm staying at the SL...anyone want to meet up for a beer let me know. I'll be there from the 24th-28th.
