I know that in our justice system in the U.S. it's not allowed to refer to a previous case of the defendant,HOWEVER I can't help but feel glad that the SOB finally got what he deserved. as he was wimpering in his plea for mercy,all I could visualize was the mangled bodies of his ex wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman lying on the ground after I believe he murdered them. The judge, so appropriately, characterized him as stupid and arrogant. He committed a heinous crime once and got away with it. To tempt fate a second time was stupid and arrogant. I do feel sorry for the dumb Phuck hanger-on Stewart who got the same sentence after he decided to go to trial and not cop a plea. (bad legal advice perhaps) It was also kind of shocking to watch the racial divide rear it's ugly head once again when the Goldmans were hecled while they responded to the media. The "free OJ" signs were once again prevalent

The one thing I resented watching the procedings was the use of the term "whore monger" ( I'm not sure who said it) when describing OJ. How dare they lump that moron in with fine upstanding gentlemen like we have here on CRT.

Right on Bob! Very glad he got the consecutive sentences, rather than the concurrent ones. There is definitely a continued swing toward substantial jail time if someone uses a crime to commit a crime.

I had not seen taht about the ridicule toward the Goldman's though. At first when I heard they were attending the trial, I thought it was really strange to me. Why bring bacl all that attention to yourselves. But I thought about what they went through the 1st time, and then realized if it were me? I would have WALKED from LA to Las Vegas to be at the trial AND the sentencing.

They were consecutive and not concurrent? When I was watching the proceeding on TV I could've sworn that they were announced concurrent but I've since seen differing totals for his sentence. Not sure what to believe at this point.

Although I'm not a believer in karma it is fair to say that bad people that do bad things will likely have bad things happen to them. OJ was so stupid in so many ways. After getting a "get out of jail free" card you have to lay low. You don't write a book about how you "would" have killed someone you were accused of, and you certainly don't accompany hired goons to recover property.

He should have emptied his secret bank accounts, cleared his secret stashes and moved out of the country (preferably not to Costa Rica, i guess). After all, the majority of the country wanted this man locked up, he had plenty of chances to do himself a favor. Now the victims in the saga of Mr. Simpson are his Ch*ldren who are without a mother and a father.

I thought that was what Karma was?? Or at least part of it. I too am a believer in Karma.

I believe karma in its original ideological creation in buddhist and hindu faiths serves as a super natural force that punishes bad actions of an individual with unrelated unfavorable outcomes in the future. Religions used it as a deterrent for those contemplating doing things that are morally wrong and at the same time encouraging people to do the right thing in order to have good fortune in the future.

I just believe in karma as a force working within probablility. The more bad things you do the more likely bad things are going to happen to you based on having relationships with bad people, creating enemies from doing bad things, or just simply associating yourself with negativity. There are plenty of people out there that continually do terrible things that go completely unpunished and vice versa.

In conclusion I guess there isn't much difference.
