Yeah....It's a great place. Located near Idem massage on the opposite side of the street. Good food and service; reasonably priced. Do a search, you'll get a lot of info.

When I was there last July, I was told they leased the adjoining rooms and were going to expand. Anybody know if they did?

It is one of my favorite places. I've had good beef there, great wines and the atmosphere is like being in a Buenas Aires or European restaurant.

I recommend the skirt steak: vacio asado. You could be in a
little house of parilla in Palermo, Buenos Aires, red-checked
tablecloths and all. I don't know where
La Esquina de Buenos Aires gets its beef, but it is superior to
what I have found elsewhere in Costa Rica.

I like to soak the vacio in chimichurri, but that is a matter of taste.

Family business. Small place. Good service. Local people go there
before and after the theatre, so you have to time things right or
make reservations.

Walk out of IDEM, take a right and then walk about 2 blocks on the other side of the street. Usually pretty crowded.

Ate there last week with another CRT. We were both happy with our steaks. They usually require reservations since they have gotten busy as of late, but their phone was down that day so they just took walk-ins.

Yes, I did not see this post and posted a review but I forgot to recommend that reservations are HIGHLY recommended. It was quite full the entire evening I was there and in the Euro/Argentine tradition the meals are to be enjoyed slowly so there is limited turnover. If you are going any time past 5, call ahead.

This is one of my fave restaurants in CR. They open for lunch at 11am till 3pm, then reopen at 6pm till 11pm. I'm not 100% positive, but I think those hours are correct.

They close between lunch and dinner. I went in around 5:30 (was not looking at my watch or anything ... what am I, a Colombian hooker?) and there were maybe two tables filled. Made a reservation for 8 and the place was packed all night.

Just got back from this restaurant. Thanks to all for the recommendations. I had passed it on the way back to the hotel, from IDEM, many times.... Service is very nice. We didn't have a reservation, but were told we could wait. They put out two chairs and a tiny table for us, and brought a cocktail and glass of wine.

Food was pretty good. Not amazing, by any stretch, but good enough, certainly, that we will return in a day or two.

The Lomito my friend ordered was better than the Cap of Rib-Eye that i had. Desserts are nice, as is the house red wine (but, i am NO aficionado).
