PS - so, nobody has had a problem taking a DRer back to HLH after hours? I take it, if it's that late, you have to take a cab? TIA

You're VIP, see this report in the VIP section: https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/vi ... hp?t=25174

Yeah, one drawback to the suites is that they aren't full suites, i.e. with separate bedrooms and living area.

Thanks.

I've probably read his report 3 times already. LOL

Reason why I was asking, when I was there 2 years ago, I would make the trek with my 2 wings from ZB to HDR after ZB closed around 9 pm almost everyday and we never had a problem.

I was just wondering if it had gotten worse over there since then. Or maybe it was that there was 3 of us and we were all Asian and they thought we might break out our KEE-YAHs on thier arses! LOL

Also, one more question, if you stay there, do they add your extra-curricular activities, food, and drink to your hotel bill, or do you have to pay that on the side.

The girls are separate from the room bill. As for food and drinks, they're also separate as far as I know, but maybe something can be arranged with Eddie.

Hey guys, new to the board. I'm planning a trip to Costa Rica and I am very interested in staying at HLH from what I've read so far. I have three questions if you could please help me out.... #1.) When you book a reservation online how do you specify that you want one of the new rooms at HLH instead of the suites? Because I definitely want to pay the $125 a night instead of the $195 a night, but on the reservation form it doesn't seem to give you a choice of what type of room you'd like to book.
Also #2.) What time is check-in at HLH?
And finally #3.) Have you guys booked rooms there through their website with no problems?

DMD:

1) the on-line reservation form has a comment section - just put your room preference there;

2) Check out is noon; not sure what time you can check -in but its probably early afternoon; and

3) I have never had a problem booking through the website and I have found the availability chart pretty much up-to-date.

Hope this helps,
Lance

Don't know this for sure but like most hotels, if you get there before check-in time, they'll probably store your bags safely 'til you check in so you can visit an MP, dental appointment or whatever. Most hotels will also store your stuff if you do a 1-2 day side trip to Jaco or wherever...assuming you stay at the hotel again when returning. Just my opinion--check with HLH for certainty.

HLH isn't as formal as other hotels, you can check in whenever you want (if you need to, you can store your bags in the office) and can use your room for a few hours past the check-out time if it isn't booked (or until someone does book it). That was my experience when I stayed there back in February, on the day I was due to leave I sessioned in my suite until around 3:00.

As far as I can see in the pics, HLH rooms don't have any kind of safe to put your valuables in, do they?

Anyone stay there think it was an issue?

Thanks

There are safes, they're in the closets IIRC.

Quite possibly the most poorly contructed hotel web site that I have seen anywhere in the world. Way overpriced for the type of rooms provided IMHO. I have also heard that the local talent at this hotel is low grade. Seems to be a place for guys on expense accounts that make one trip a year outside the US.

You can store your bags there if you arrive early. Or your flight leaves latter. Have done it myself.

I have stayed in the double upstairs with a freind on two occassions. Considering the 25 to 30 dollar discount on the girls. If you book girls for 4 hours. like two girls twice a day for an hour the room is free. If you take a mountian tour. Come back after 8 and go to sleep then it might not be a deal. If you have 6 to 8 hours booked in many different combo's. Then it is a kick ass deal.
It depends on what you are looking for. No guest fee if after 8 hours at HLH you go out and bring some dessert back with you.

And I trust the management. for me that is worth alot also. But, I also trust Darren at Castillo and Bill at Sportsman and Matt at Armistead.

ya a couple quick questions...if you book a room at HLH through their website do they charge your credit card immediately? or do they just want the credit card info to hold the room and you pay on arrival? thanks

also i know the girls are $25 an hour if you are staying there, if you decide to keep the girl for another hour how much $ do you add on to the 25? and if you choose to have 2 girls at the same time i'm assuming the price is $50 an hour then, correct?

thanks a bunch

Yeah they hold it and if you cancel they'll usually charge some fee.

$25 for the first, 2nd, and 3rd sessions.

$25 for the first, 2nd, and 3rd chica.
