Will be making my fourth trip to CR in January. Stayed at HDR on first, just for the experience. Stayed on subsquent visits at the Holiday Inn because it was free (Priority Club points) and kept the chica fee to no more than nce a day (and in fact, was able more than once to just walk to the elevator when the front desk was particularly busy). Points or no points, will not return.

Attempted to make book the SL but availability is limited during the period of stay (Jan 13-22) and I'm not inclined to move around once ensconced. So ... Looking for a bit on input here ... Dunn Inn? Le Amistad? Somewhere else?

Despite having read this board for quite some time, I only recently became a VIP member. Looking forward to meeting some of you in January.

La Amistad is nice and close to the SL, also easy to catch a cab on the corner which it is located. Clarion Amon is also a nice hotel, book through the casino the get the CRT discount. Both have wifi and breakfast.

On the other hand, Dunn Inn is closer to Eddie's Cigar Bar aka HLH than La Amistad, if that's your mongering venue of choice. And cabs are easy to snag there too. Plus they have a nice small bar/cafe. Don't know about WiFi availablity. For an extended stay (4+ days), La Amistad might be the better choice if for no other reason than the free (+ propina) laundry service. Great to have such good choices, isn't it?
P. S. If I'm going adventuring (ATV tours, etc.) and staying at the DI, I usually get picked up at the Clarion--there's a turn-out there visible from the cafe. And a GrayLine/Interbus desk. It's right down the street from the Dunn Inn.

Hotel Castillo is also within three block area of the other named places, is comfortable, reasonably priced and chica friendly.
