Once a person receives permanent residency in CR, is the card permanent or do you need to renew it periodically. If it needs to be renewed; what is the cost?

51 views and not a single CRT board member has a residency card? If you do, please look at it and see if it has a renewal or expiration date.

GM, here's the deal. When you first receive your cedula, you have to renew it every year for the first five years. After that it is every two years until you reach ten years and then it is every five years. Or I should say was. I don't know what will hapen under the new rules. I could be off a touch. I converted to citizenship a couple of years ago.

No F%#&ing wonder the country is all screwed up. The little woman went to renew hers and they gave her an appointment for next July. By that time it will be almost time to renew it again.

My undestanding is that they're automatically extending the residency to deal with the lag..

The only extensions issued this year were for residency's that were do for renewal in Jan., Feb., March & April. They were extended until 2009.
