On Friday at about 5:30 p.m. 50-100 police raided the DR. I was sitting at a table with Mr.Black. They are so incompetent that they came over to the table 4 different times to ask for I.D. The whole street was closed down. They were everywhere with a lot of guns drawn. The cops put 8-10 chicas who did not have proper documentation on them into a van. I left about forty minutes later and it was a little scary walking through all those cops.

BTW the chicas in the van had very limited earning power at the moment so I offered a cop a $2 bribe and he let me in the van where I proceeded to get several $10 BBBJ CIM.

You don't have to worry too much about their guns -- most of them don't have bullets. Regular Barnie Fife's.

Saturday? Friday, maybe? Yeah, I just heard that the HDR was overrun by cops and immigration.

Good to see you posting amigo. What were the policia doing to all the gringos in the house? Were they hassling all the gringo customers, or just the chicas? Was Big John around? Any more info?

That is funny, SK! That was the part of Barracuda's post that I DIDN'T think he was pulling our chain since such events have occurred before. The only part that I DID have trouble believing was the only sentence that you left out of your quote. You know, the one about bribing his way into the back of a police paddy wagon where he got MULTIPLE $10 BB CIM BJ's from 8-10 chicas. Tell me Barracuda, were they in handcuffs or were they able to use their hands too and how long were you locked in there that you were able to shoot off so many times? THAT is one helluva story.

Mike, they were hasseling everybody. As I said 4 visits to my table and I still didn't buy them a beer. What other info? When I got back to the DR at about 9:20 the police were gone except for 4 on one of the street corners and the place was mobbed. Business as usual.

50 to 100 may be a bit high, but there certainly were a SHITLOAD of cops. 2 of them were very cute (female). I joked with them on the corner and they smiled sweetly, said buenas noches when they left.

Good thing they are concentrating on important things and not wasting time with serial murder/robberies.

I left about 5:30 and missed the whole thing. The came in about 6pm and stayed about an hour.

MG, as far as I know, 'BIG JOHN' is still out of town. Has been for 2 months; supposedly he is in Thailand opening up a new "pink palace'!!!!! That is the word on the street, not official.

Barracudaman,I have a question. Were the police from Immigration or one of the regular SJ forces? Normally it is immigration,especially when they take away some of the chicas that are from other countries. I'm glad I left to play poker just before 5pm.

There are no plans for a "pink palace" in Cartagena or the Philipines. Nothing more than Costa Rica rumor.
