Something is different since my trip to Costa Rica.

Showers used to be just a necessary task; one of a number of routine things to be checked off my list. Now my showers remind me of getting ready for immense pleasure. I step into the shower and I remember the anticipation, wanting to be fresh and clean for someone, and finally getting to experience what I could not find in the US. I pick up the soap and as I lather I am returned to the shower in Costa Rica, the soft brown skin, the exciting curves, the smile, the laugh, the beautiful eyes.

I used to see girls on the street in America and feel so badly that at my age I could never experience something like that. My time was gone and I was a failure at relationships, never giving myself the opportunity. And then I went to Costa Rica. Costa Rica makes me want to live.

I am currently 58 and I deeply regret that I have not been able to escape the chains that have kept me lonely. But Costa Rica was the trip of a lifetime for me, and the trip that I most look forward to repeating.

If I were given two weeks to live….you know the rest.

One more day.
One more time.
One more sunset maybe I’d be satisfied.

Bobby Tomberlin and Steven Dale Jones

That’s how I feel about Costa Rica.
Thank you to those who post helpful information on this site.

I will return in 2009.

Yes, CR and the gulch scene can be and is intoxicating. Fantasyland usually is... the key being fantasy. You'll do fine if you never lose that perspective.

Latin America in general is this way. Age is not so much a factor for some women as it is in the US. So long as they like you, and you have money of course, then you are fine getting a younger woman.

You are right about feeling alive. When I started traveling -and not necessarily for mongering- I noticed that it was easier to hook up or at least get the attention of younger women. While I am not your age yet (I'm 38 ), on a recent trip to Nicaragua I had an 18 yr civilian giving me the clear look that she liked me. We danced and had a blast. Had it not been that more time was needed, and of course, I had to leave early the next morning, the possibilities were real to get her!

P.S. I will look for her in my next trip to Nicaland. Don't worry, I hate to leave "pending issues" :D

Pura vida and enjoy Costa Rica

Great first post, Lost! I am a year younger than you and understand exactly what you are saying.

Guard your heart while you are here if you are just dropping in for vacations but Costa Rica is really whatever you make it. Women (et al) are predisposed to seek security so your ability to provide will always matter to them. That does not mean that it is all about you giving to them. If you want more than momentary pleasure you really have to be on-scene full time.

Congratulations on a second chance.........

It is a Fantasyland and we have the e ticket or should I say tickets. It is so different how we are treated. You have to be careful not to become over intoxicated. My advice is have fun, keep it in perspective and sign up for frequent flyer programs.

I am 57 yrs. old and could not agree with you more. Have made 8 trips to C. R. in 3 years and each time I learn more and enjoy more. I can retire in 2 years with a nice pension and thinking of spending 6 months a year in C.R. Better than shuffleboard in Miami. :D

Thanks to all for the insightful replies. I will guard my heart and stay grounded unless I meet that girl in Pac55’s refrigerator. Then I’m a goner for sure.

Welcome. Glad you had a good time. I would take this time to get motivated into things like the gym again. Although it's a guarantee to get laid, don't underestimate the currency of attraction

Good for you, I hope this pep in you're step is long lasting.. 8)

Obviously, it was the suicide head that got you all charged up.
