I agree with CVCAP. the Fiesta is the best spot in town, coming from a local who has tried them all. Although I know a lot of you vacationers prefer the close proximity of SL....if your a true fan and not on a chica spree, the Fiesta is hands down THE spot.

Monday night ladies night fires up right after the game as well...which is sweet.

The above statement may be true, I have never been to the Fiesta.

Since I'm chasing poosey (that's why I go to CR), and not sitting on my *ss in my lazy boy like I normally do for college ball, the SL is a great place to go to score with the ladies during the game. Many, if not most, of the guys there will not even notice the ladies if their team is playing. It drives the girls nuts, they really don't understand it.

For me, the SL is a great place to have your pick of the ladies during the big games, and a very short walk to my room.

I agree with Santas Bro, I like the scenary as well as the ability to watch a game in a relaxed atmophere with good food.

It is the distance, not in miles but in hours, that keeps me from Fiesta. It takes me 45 minutes to an hour to get to the SL, the Fiesta can be one to two hours more depending on traffic.

Santas Bro and everyone else from LA knows what that commute is like, and I lived with the LA commute traffic for years. It was bad. If I ever get to wondering what it was like, the memories of old farts fails fast, I just have to get on the pista toward Alajuela and it all comes back.

Doesn't matter how great the Fiesta is, if you spend two to three hours in traffic -- which can only be described as a living breathing version of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride - just getting there, then no amount of wonderful can make up for it.

And that doesn't include driving home half in the bag which I would NEVER do.

I normally stay at the Amisatd now, and go to the SL for games, not going to pay for a long taxi ride when I can do a quick walk instead.

And yes, when I'm watching a game I do ignore the girls. I do scan around the place to see who's there, but am careful not to linger on anyone for too long. :D

You could try the Time Out Tavern in Escazu, on the same road as the Costa Rica Country Club, go south or up the hill about 1/4 mile, it's on the left. Quite a few TV's with most football games available, and pretty good food also. A friendly, mostly English speaking crowd. And how about Jazmin, the spinner waitress from Cali!

Fiesta takes you one to two hours? Where do you live, Guanacaste?

Trust me being a customer of both places, it is 100% true. But agreed, if your looking for women, by all means, hit up the SL. I live here, so Sundays are strictly for football....can chase women any time.

Timeout is great and has hands down the best sandwiches in the country. However, seating is usually an issue as its gotten quite popular.

Lovelatinas Go east, just before you drop off the side of the second very large volcano you come to, you can see my house in the distance if you have binoculars. Kind of a joke but not too far off.

It is not even close the Colonial Casino Sports Bar upstairs is the best place to catch a game. Oh course that is just my opinion.
