There's info on here on that question. Many people prefer the new wing. If you have a chance to switch, you won't regret it.

Agree with Cujo...do your due diligence and search the site for courtyard comments. I cannot remember too many great ones, especially with the new wing so much nicer/ quieter. Depends on what you are looking for I guess, so as always YMMV. But there should be plenty of SL commentary to look through.

stayed in the room up front "amor?" end of aug for 6 days and got about 3-4 hours of sleep a night, if I was lucky. By the time the bar closed down at midnight, then people coming and going and the place got quiet, the morning staff and breakfest was starting up. Some solid core doors and a little 3/4 drywall would do wonders to reduce the noise ( tv's-- talking and bars sounds), so untill then spend the extra money and upgrade if at all possible, unless you can live with distrub or no sleep ( of which I be doing for 37 years so no big deal for me) Will stay there again, loved the place- but will upgrade like the above post have mentioned. Trust your brothers advice here they are right :D :D

I stayed at La Amistad recently, 1 block away, and there were times that I wished I was staying at Sportsmens, just to make that finger-wag and have the girl. It must be a lot more convenient for them. Having said that, La Amistad is mighty nice.

I was there in Sportsman just last week and I stayed in the courtyard and the new wing. The courtyard is a little loud during the day but at night its very quiet. My room was right next to the door and no shit, If I wanted to I could lay in my bed and watch chics at the bar. You dont need a TV in your room, you can just listen to the many TVs in the courtyard. Not only do you have a door in the courtyard rooms but you have a window as well which dosnt help with the sound. I was never in my room that much except at night but if you plan to take a break during the day it might be a little hard.
