Funny.....I've stayed in contact with several realtors over the past 2 years and they're still telling me the CR housing market is "booming".....

BT,
You misunderstood.... they meant "bombing", but it's hard to understand with the accent.

MG,
That WOULD be an interesting article IF it wasn't just repeating the spin of a guy who has been part of the profession that was promoting CR as a "buyer's market" all along thereby fueling the bubble. These guys are like our current President speaking on the economy. There has been so many lies and propaganda coming out of their mouths over the last few years that they have lost all credibility.

Is CR now a "buyer's market"? Perhaps, but just like our own economy and housing market I wouldn't cast any bets that we have seen the bottom in either arena or will see any rise in prices any time soon. Unless you can lock in some low interest financing I don't see any advantage in rushing back into that market rather than waiting and seeing how things start to shake out.

I love Costa Rica but if I wanted to live near a nice beach, I'd go to Florida.
Every time I'm there to visit my Mom in Ft Walton, I think what a dump Jaco is. Sorry but dirty beaches and un-swimable water, So now you are just left with the HEAT and Humidity.

I live in Sabana Sur and I enjoy the cool weather of the Central Valley.
I got so tired of HOT then COLD in Georgia.

These "natural disasters" (real estate slump) are needed from time to time to weed out gringos. Much like the Brothers collapse a few years back. And we saw a lot of pain in the asses go home.... Starting to see that with the real estate market now.
