Fellas,

Just wanted to share a recently good experience of booking an airport pick up at www.searchcostarica.com. This web site actually uses Interbus services. I used the paypal option to pay for the airport pick up and cost me only $6.00. I have had some changes in my flight and arrival time and was able to communicate with them through email. The responses from the emails were very quick.

The only draw back from using the Interbus pick up is that it can delay your travel to your hotel if they have to wait to pick up other passengers at the same time. In my case, my flight was delayed and I had to re-arrange for a different pick up time at 9:30PM and there were 2 other passengers besides me. I was the first one to find the Interbus guy with the sign. We waited at least another hour for the other 2 passengers who were reportedly on the same flight as mine. I was getting restless. My short 3-day weekend has been cut short and I lost half a day already and I really want to get to the hotel, change, and hit the Delrey ASAP.

SO....if you are not overly horny and have some time to spare, I highly recommend you book your airport transfers through them. For $6.00 each way is not a bad deal. 8) 8)

SD,
The wait usually much much shorter. I have never waited more than 10 minutes for other passengers. Usually, I would be the only person on it. Once, he said we have to wait for another person, but after 10 minutes and them not coming out, he just said, "lets go".

Let's give props to Steven1 for bringing this excellent service to our attention in the first place. I'll be using it myself Friday.

How strict is the service about luggage limits? It states you can bring one piece of luggage and one carry-on item. I'll have one large suitcase, a carry on duffel bag, as well as a laptop bag with me, do you think that will be a problem?

The driver's are usually pretty lax on the baggage rules, especially if there's only 1 or 2 people. If he mentions anything, I'd slip him $5.

Yes, the driver was pretty flexible with the baggage rules as long as there are enough room for your extra baggage. I had an extra small laptop bag which I kept next to me in the van and didn't have any problem.

The funny thing about the Interbus was that there were 3 people working for them for pick up. There was a young guy delegated to hold up the sign. The driver was walking around or waiting for the other guy to find the passengers. There was another middle age female waiting in the van and she takes the voucher/receipt from the passengers. All 3 piled in the van and left the airport with us 3 passengers. That's a lot of manpower just for a simple airport pickup. .

I think this guy is the Minister of Tourism in Colombia (or just somebody with deep psychological problems).

If he's gonna charge you $10 for an extra bag, a $5 tip is not out of line.
