Regardless of what you think of this post it surprises me to see people get defenssive. :|

Rainman you're point is well taken. I don't require to read posts that are perfect. However, in something like a TP, the better put together and the ease of reading goes a long way. Otherwise I have nothing to add except that your post hasn't fallen on deaf ears. 8)

My belief is that if you want something read it has to be short. When people see the long post they usually ignore them because they see it as too time consuming to read.

If you do have a paragraph of information it is best to break it up into one to three sentence per paragraph. That makes it more readable. It may not be grammatically correct but it is more likely to be read.

There has to be a lot of "white" space, or in the case of these postings, a lot of gray space between the short paragraphs.

We have been trained to think in sound-bites. If you watch TV, you will notice that the camera focuses on one object for about five seconds then it changes target. That keeps people’s interest because that is how the general populace has been trained to learn.

There are die-hards who can read volumes of run-on sentences and paragraphs which seemingly never end, but most people skip it and move on to the next topic.

Break it up, small bites, and re-read it on preview before you submit. Even at that you are bound to make an error once in a while.

Be patient with your brothers, we all just want to share our experinces.

I give credit to anyone who attempts to write any type of informational post. For the most part people can read through misspelled words just like in the case of the original poster in regards to the way he spelled “information”. I would rather give someone credit rather than belittle them because of some spelling or grammar errors. Some of the older folks in the CRT brotherhood might be intimidated just turning on the computer. I encourage all to keep posting regardless of the want to be perfectionists who have “pet peeves” about spelling errors.

As a new member of this forum I'd have to say that the overall grammer here is pretty pathetic. The internet does have an effect (affect/ effect causes people problems) on this issue. People get on this forum and try to pump out replies as fast as they possibly can. Whether their wife is in the next room or someone is impatiently waiting to use the computer next. I believe people have the right to get pissed when grammar and spelling make a post hard to decifer. If the post is still readable with errors then it shouldn't be a big deal. I think if all posts were proofread then the issue would be very minor. In my initial two posts I payed less attention to grammar than I should have. After more research and contructive criticism I've been trying to implement my college education into my writing. I have a brain...yes!! Now I know that $40,000 did not go to complete waste.

Proof Read!!
they're vs. their vs. there
to vs. too
affect vs. effect
your vs. you're
then vs. than
punctuation
run-on sentances
paragraph breaks
past vs. present tense
internet slang...

We all make mistakes, we all didn't go to college, we all love pu*sy...can't we all get along? Even the creator of this thread made errors when writing about errors.

P.S. As an avid internet guy I've developed the "..." tendency. Not sure how you english buffs feel about that. Personally I feel it helps a writer bring life to his words. Sometimes a writer's tone is hard to pick up on in posts on the internet. Sometimes disregarding Ms. Wilson's 3rd grade instructions helps CRTs better understand the points that we try to get across.

Earlystart83 Good points!

Sometimes we say something intending to mean one thing but the way it comes out does not relay what we intended.

Communication is really about trust and being in tune one with another. There are communication scenarios where people just click and the information flows easily and smoothly between the two parties. At its best, when people are really in tune, communications can be full and complete with just a look or an otherwise meaningless grunt -- such as ahhhh.

Example: A really hot chica walks by two CRT members who do not know each other. Without being acquainted the CRT members see, absorb and communicate with eye to eye contact. You know what each other is thinking. Niiiiiice!

But when there is little or no trust, communications are labored and fraught with the need to specify, plainly and painfully articulate meanings and devolving concepts to the most elemental and provable level. Example: Divorce court, Ch*ld custody hearing, and an income tax audit.

Keep up the good posts.

I agree with Early that run on sentences can be hard to decipher

I love this thread. :D

The same guys who advocate proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure and other things keep getting chastised for their own mistakes. What a comedy of errors

The only thing missing is a 5000 word essay, explaining everything, by Prolijo. That would be a fitting ending to this absurdity.

  :P

I wish I was that clever. My spelling is so poor, my grammar might be 11th grade level though...?

Can we let this one die and concentrate in PU$$Y? All this wasted posts could had been put to a better use discussing relevant information. Now my brothers go and repeat a hundred pu$$ies and do not discuss grammar again. Amen!

Josie and the rest of the brotherhood,

Gents, I really was not attempting to stir up a bunch of shit with this thread. CRT has provided me with loads of useful information and many great laughs throughout my time here.

One place in particular that I appreciate goor grammar and writing skills is in the trip reports. I am also a member of Club Hombre which seems to have many members who happen to be excellent writers with pretty damn good grammar also.

I believe that lately RT Gooch, a CH regular poster has joined CRT (RT, bienvenidos to CRT if you are out there ). You guys should read a couple of RT's trip reports on CH and you will see just what I am talking about !

Good storytelling plus solid grammar equals an enjoyabl trip report for the reader.
We have too many guys that post too much stuff that is just phucking stupid IMHO !

But hey, JMHO,
