I've been a fan since 1958. Bring back the "moon shots" ('59).

The 1958 Starting Line-up and Four Starting pitchers

C Johnny Roseboro
1B Gil Hodges
2B Charlie Neal
3B Dick Gray
SS Don Zimmer (Pee Wee Reese also played)
LF Jim Gilliam
CF Duke Snider
RF Carl Furillo
P Johnny Podres
P Don Drysdale
P Sandy Koufax
P Stan Williams

They played in the LA Coliseum. Left field was only 250 feet, with a forty foot screen.

A crowd of 115,300, the largest ever to watch a baseball game, saw the Boston Red Sox defeat the Dodgers by a score of 7-4 in an exhibition game at the Coliseum on Saturday, March 29, 2008.

My question about the game last night, how did they find so many mute people in Chicago to attend the game? I expected more from the Chicago fans.

In LALA land the crowd would have been gone by the eight inning. Los Angeles is one of the worst fan bases in the nation. You better be a winner here. We could care less that we don't even have a NFL team.

New York would have booed them to death.

The REAL answer is THIS...........

Anyone you saw (or did not hear) at Wrigley Field last night are not REAL Cub fans. The "REAL" LOYAL CUB FANS were the guys going NUTS in the Bars and streets outside the stadium who could not afford the $600-$2500 ticket prices the REAL fans sold on stub hub to these IDIOT fair weather fans....

GO BIG Z

I think people have underestimated this Dodger team...they are gelling at the right moment...totally in the zone...everything in place...Torre...Manny...Raffie...Nomar...etc etc

Is it just me, or does anyone else find TBS's coverage incredibly flat and uninvolving? And it doesn't help that Dick Stockton - IMHO the worst PBP guy of all-time - is anchoring things...

I know - I should just get off my lazy ass and turn on Vinny on the radio, but I actually don't get good AM reception anywhere near the TV. Would love to hear his dulcet tones calling the games though.

If we take the pennant then the manny trade has got to go down in the books as one of the best ever. We gave up some farm boys for him, now he's hitting jacks and shutting up cubs fans (adding to his record breaking playoff totals, Boston slipped).

tbs announcers are blatantly cheering and rooting for the cubs besides being really lame. i love tony gwynn but he does not belong in the booth. sounds like a little girl.
only thing redeeming is the post game w eckersley et al.

I agree GR...with the exception of Harold Reynolds. He is awesome, and good to see him back on the national scene. Even though he ph*cked up a good thing at ESPN, I find him funny and gives just the right amount of inside details. I'm sure he will never be back at ESPN (got fired for harrassment), but maybe Fox will wake up and dump McCarver, and pair Reynolds with Joe Buck.
