I just looked at the "extended" forecast for San Jose weather on Yahoo and for the next 10 days or so it shows "Thunderstorms" for each frickin day. WTF!!! I'm there on Dec. 4th for 9 days. Should I really expect rain all the time or are these mainly bursts of showers whereas most of the day is dry.

Yes yes Its rainy season... and no no it does not usually rain all day but from about 1PM till 5pm and it varies from the occasional spit shower to the complete deluge......

On the up side, 1st week of December is moving towards Dry Season and the rains are much less prevalant to non existent.. so don't sweat it...

OH there are worse ways to spend a rainy afternoon then curled up with your favorite Tica

Piroca, it rains every day during rainy season. Like Capo said, its from about 1-5pm. The rain is usually warm and normally doesnt interfere with afternoon activities. It's a great time to session at ZB and listen to the rain rattle the metal roof, or sit in the news cafe and watch the world walk by. A good tip is to buy a portable umbrella from a street vendor and carry it with you.
