Wait a minute though, maybe I didn't write it so clearly. I'm not falling on either side, just pointing out that the exact same arguments on either side have been hashed over in many threads. Some of the topics on the board are like arguing controversial political topics. One side is rarely gonna change the mind of the other. So, it sort of ends up being irrelevant.

No worries, my original point to this post has already been lost. Just too hard to convey in writing what I'm trying to say. I mean this thread isn't necessarily about how to pick up a hooker etc.. Far from it... But yeah, I'm semi confident that %3 of the guys reading this understand "for real" what I'm saying....

Jad, I believe I understand your post and its title clearly and still believe, nay, know that the Rey is not tough for the average guy. I am about as average as the board gets 46 190(give or take 5lbs) 5'9 and speak greetings only, phrase book in hand spanish and do just as well as I have since my first trip in 2/05. oct will be my tenth trip overall and 4th this year so the fun factor must still be high. my issue is with the sky is falling mentality thats popping up to often around here. my biggest concern is that the del rey house prices, food and drinks, have gone up significantly in these three years. the sex prices is still in the same ball park and most importantly negotible(sic).

while my next trip in jun might be to points futher south (medillien) it is not because of any discontent with the rey but because of Paulyv's pics.

I think my topic went from A, straight to Z. That's quite a jump. I'm well aware a guy can go in there flash a benny and get a nut. No doubt about it, that hasn't changed about that place and prolly never will.
I just think there is a wide range of experiences in the room, you know the LMNOPQRSTUV part of the alphabet can be really cool. Don't know if that makes sense but, that's why I'm apprehenssive to go to Rio. Even at my present age, weight, look, etc.. it would KILL me to not be able to talk to the ladies with the beautiful bundas...*sigh* gives me fucken chills just thinking about those girls. I understand the retarded big difference it makes in CR, and can't imagine it's any different there.

Do I need to learn portuguese to go to Brazil? Of course not. Would I still get laid, mmm yea.. but it just wouldn't be the same and I know it. Have a good trip down south, let us know what you thought of Medellin..

I'm also pretty average for a gringo: height, weight, size, appearance, etc. Well, maybe not average in weight because I've always been in good shape - lean but not built - and the average gringo is now overweight. I'm mid to late 30s so younger than the average for CRT I think.

I've been mongering for several years now (Asia, Europe and Latin America mostly) and many of the things that Cujo says are right on the money. Attitude and local language skills go a long way. I'm not fluent in Spanish, but I can communicate pretty well.

Treating the chicas like regular people (not like pros) is a big deal. If they're comfortable with you then you're going to have a much better time with them. Having some game is also important for getting the best performance whether in San Jose or in your own home town. In San Jose it makes the chicas feel more normal and less like pros if that makes any sense. That also worked for me in Thailand. There's one chica there who didn't charge me after our first night. And now she calls me all the time (maybe too much) and no RFMs. Don't worry I'm not about to jump into a long term lease or purchase agreement with that particular model.

My several years of mongering have really helped my game back at home as well. I've always liked gringas, but lately I care less and less about hooking up with them, which strangely enough has made them more aggressive trying to hook up with me. I still turn on the charm but don't pursue them. I let them pursue me.

My real interest has become Latinas (non-pros), especially the ones who have moved here from their home countries. In my area that mostly means Mexicanas but not exclusively. I stumbled into a group of Brazilian chicas living here and have been doing great with a couple of them. One was coming over to my place at least once a week until she went back to Rio and now one of her friends has been doing her best to win that job.

I have to go to Brazil someday, but I want to know some of the language before I do that. At least to a basic conversational level. I'll probably start learning the language sometime next year, but for now I'm still trying to improve my Spanish. I'll probably hit Costa Rica again this fall, but Medellin could be my next stop down south instead. I loved all of the Medellin Mansion spinner pix that have shown up here on CRT.

The key to meeting foreign chicas living as ex-pats in your town is to find a way into their circle of friends. In my case, a buddy of mine was occasionally seeing a Brasileira who was working at the same company as him. One night we were out drinking when she called him and said we should meet up with her and her friends at a club. We told them to come to the bar we were at first. She showed up with a friend - the first Brasileira I mentioned - and the rest was easy.

Then after that I met her friends at different restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. They always have a circle of friends from their home country. Some working, some in school. My current Brasileira is in grad school.

That's smart. I hadn't thought of that possibility. Maybe I'll do something similar if I can get enough time off from work. If I can't get the time off this fall, I'll try that in the future.

The Medellin Mansion and other Colombia photos here are way better than what I've seen on the international sex guide. Are there other places where people post photos from Colombia?

Trust me on this guys! Use the full extent of your time off for vacation in Medellin. If you are like most it will take awhile before you want CR again. If you speak ok Spanish and have a little bit of game than Medellin is heaven. Join www.colombiancupid.com about a month before your trip and line up a couple of civilians. However if you are going to play this game I would not recommend staying at the MM.

I'm on Columbiancupid already, have my MSN list jam packed as well. Trouble is, I'm booked 5 nights at the Mansion and from what I read, non-pros aren't going there and Aussie Greg confirmed when I spoke to him that the Sunday I'm there is his birthday and the Mansion will be closed for a party for guests staying there plus a selection of maybe 10 paisas.

What I am considering is maybe renting a spot from a good buddy Frank Casio or going private for an VIP apartment rental for local play.

My hesitation is my results with setting up dates for CR was lukewarm at best. I was told to expect that from chicas. Do you think the paisas will be more reliable? I ask because I've been on C-cupid several months and I found that if the girls don't know that there about to meet you soon, they do cool off.
