Amazing 3 of the top 5 are Florida teams.

Guess we know where the collegiate powers reside. And now South Florida starting to rise rapidly,

In the past ten years only two Florida teams in top ten:
Miami at # 7
Florida #10
The last five years no Florida teams in the top 10, and only one in the top 20 with Florida at # 17!!!
It doesn't look like the power is
currently residing in Florida! The memories of the nineties must be wonderful though.
Using a numerical award of 10 points for #1 down to 1 point for #10 by conference, the past ten years breaks down as:
1.
Big 12 Texas (#2)/Oklahoma (#3)
17 points
2.
Atlantic Coast Virginia Tech (#5)/Miami (#7)
10 points
3.
WAC Boise State (#1)
10 points
4.
Big Ten Ohio State (#4)/Michigan (#9)
9 points
5.
Southeastern Georgia (#6)/Florida (#10)
6 points
6.
Pac 10 Southern California # 8
3 points
Looks like the Big 12 has been running hot for the last ten years. The ranking for WAC & Boise State, who plays a weaker schedule is skewed somewhat, although remember the Oklahoma game. Unfortunately for us on the left coast, the Pac 10 sucks, other than Southern California.
